What, you've got something against Michelle Bachmann? :sidestep:who's on first?
I'm really starting to get something against Michelle "Dale" Bachmann...lolWhat, you've got something against Michelle Bachmann? :sidestep:

(Hey, it's reflex. I'm on a roll.)
WOOOT Barrack Obama. I can't buy ammo for my new gun because everyone is hoarding it now.

Blame the media...
Did Jefferson have a crystal ball?
John F. Kennedy once said to an assembled group of scholars
in the White House: "I think this is the most extraordinary
collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been
gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of
when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
The quotes below could prove his point.
"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in
Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe ."
- Thomas Jefferson
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from
those who are willing to work and give to those who would
not.."
- Thomas Jefferson
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as
it goes. A principle which, if acted on, would save one-half
the wars of the world."
- Thomas Jefferson
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent
the government from wasting the labors of the people under
the pretense of taking care of them."
- Thomas Jefferson
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government
results from too much government."
- Thomas Jefferson
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
- Thomas Jefferson
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to
keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves
against tyranny in government."
- Thomas Jefferson
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with
the blood of patriots and tyrants."
- Thomas Jefferson
In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting
to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our
liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever
allow private banks to control the issue of their currency,
first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and
corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive
the people of all property until their children wake-up
homeless on the continent their fathers conquered".
That's seems fairly accurate, although I don't know why it's under the Obama thread. I whole heartedly agree with all of those quotes, but with this current economic situation we can't blame the Obama presidency.
No comment, I can't open myself up to political bitterness. The anti Obama campaign is a futile one, and I don't think it will change in the next 8yrs regardless of what decisions he makes.Who DID spend money we don't have into the next 2 presidential terms if not the Obama administration? If Obama's crew aren't the ones that spent more tax money in 30 days that Bush spent on Katrina and the war COMBINED in a total of 8 years, WHO DID?

I like. And for Brent - my favorite TJ quote:
"Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear."
Dale
Jon Stewart...lol he is hilarious...and smarter than any political pundit out there!“And while President Bush was the one who started the bailout, nationalizing an insurance company, added a $17 trillion drug prescription entitlement program, had a government-mandated public school initiative, literally titled ‘No Child Left Behind,’ wiretapped citizens without warrants, created secret internment camps in international waters behind the reach of our justice system and allowed his vice president to live in a netherworld between the executive and legislative branch…Only now with the advent of ‘Potato Day’ has tyranny come to our shores.”
Great quote, well taken. As this may relate to the Obama situation. I find nothing wrong with questioning Obama, it's just that gigantic pile of blame was created by tons of people throwing junk on the pile. And to unload it on one person would not be fair, or just. Not that you were placing blame, I'm just connecting it to your statement. And for Brent - my favorite TJ quote:

Yes, tyranny. A.K.A. our democratically elected President. You know what guys....I think you might be confusing tyranny with losing. And I feel for you because ah...I've been there. A few times. In fact one of them was a bit of a nail biter. But see, when the guy that you disagree with gets elected, he's probably going to do things you disagree with. He could cut taxes on the wealthy. Remove government's oversight capability. Invade a country that you thought should not be invaded but that's not tyranny. That's democracy.
See now you're in the minority. It's supposed to taste like a s#%* taco. And by the way, if I remember correctly when a disagreement was expressed about that President's actions when ya'll were in power I believe the response was "Why do you hate America?". "Watch what you say." "Love it or leave it." "Suck on my truck *uts." [snip]
For god's sake guys. You've been out of power for ten *%#ng weeks. You've got a mid-term election in twenty months. Pace your rage!
That's why I was Pro Obama, not anti Bush or Mcain. But in all fairness, Bush had a full 8yrs to leave his legacy, Obama just started, so I don't see the connection.Too many people would say you need to add the following statement: "Unless it was Bush everyone placed all the blame one - that's OK then."......lol
