But 164 people have already died from swine flue, thats about 1/1,000,000th of the average deaths that occur every week.

Agreed, all we can do is wash our hands more. But there are much more serious crisis' going on in the world to stop our daily lives for this.

I'd agree with this to a point.

Overrated? Possibly, more like over-hyped (for now). But still, not something that should be taken lightly.
 
Sweet you all can evacuate from this planet and I will stay here ;) FINALLY I will get this place to myself... Will take me forever to clean up all the trash that you have left everywhere though.. But I think the earth will slowly recover...

What?? David, have you ever thought of proofreading, before you pressed the "submit Reply" button. Just a thought because I think I know what you mean here, but at the same time, I don't??

What do the people, who live in Darfur, have to do with the swine flu? I am not seeing a correlation between the two.:dunce: I would rather US $$ be spent on helping US citizens. Especially, if they are being infected by a "potentially" deadly virus that has been linked to an outbreak, in Mexico.
 
Actually it is a major real concern. I think a few here haven't really read or listened to the media reports on this. Just kinda glossed over it.
Most people that have Died from it are in their prime health and are young, not the the real young or the elderly.

Its hitting past Flu Season, typically the flu is spread during the winter months due to the way viruses are transferred. I think this is the main reason why the CDC is kinda spooked. If they are spooked, we should listen. They typically do not jump the gun and its better to be safe than sorry.

If it does hit the US with the falling of jobs and people with Health Care, it may be spread around that much faster due to people thinking its just a spring cold or a simple bug and not going to the doctor.

The way our society is now, a pandemic can hit this planet pretty hard. When they are warning people not to travel from Europe to the Americas, again, there is something to it and its not all Media hype.

I believe at this time they believe that 28 people are infected in NY. How many of those 28 people talked to others and shook hands or given hugs?

Funny thing about that, the media is trying to say the outbreak started with birds that migrated from the UK to Mexico, which makes absolutely no sense.

But for some reason they do not want to blame the mexicans.
So they blamed the english.... birds... Lol.
But then again at the same time, some sources say the government just doesn't want us to know how it "started."
BUT THEN AGAIN.
Some media says its just a man made airborn weapon of mass destruction.

AND WAIT THATS NOT ALL.

Somewhere on google there is an article saying barrack obama has been exposed personally and our president is going to die!

We are expiriencing severe internet information turbulance and might as well crash!

It's not a major concern of mine at this point in time, although one case was recently found in my county. When more people start getting it, I'll worry more.

We can use mexico as our "hollywood movie star" sacraficial sacred grounds. Maybe the gods will decide since we are throwing our own entertainment to the firey pitts of swine flue hell. That they will spare our souls and we along with the swine can live in harmony.

Please point me to an article that states we are all definitely going to die of swine flu the was carried by migrating ornithological specimens and transferred to pigs and given to Obama...then we'll talk.

Like I said, it's nothing to take lightly. Should people be panicking and rioting in the streets? No. But that doesn't mean it isn't serious.

I got a phone call saying I shouldn't even leave the house cause I am pregnant from my mother. Its like give me a break!
