What is the "white bumps" Stuff seems to be on them?

White bumpy stuff. It won’t hurt the eggs. You have one that is not going to make it, the others look ok.

Looks like that one candled is fertile but how wet is your substrate? It looks like mold and the white spots may be calcium deposits. I would give them some air and hope for the best, but the mold may have one:(

the substrate isnt really wet at all. Its "hatch rite" right from the bag. doesnt even seem damp. However i will make more air holes. However Uncovering the eggs. will this hurt the air the other eggs are around (other reptile eggs)

You really don’t have a problem. It is nothing that will spread. It is nothing to worry about. I have some females that produce eggs with the white bumpy stuff every year. It is not a mold or fungus, it is part of the shell itself.

Hatch Rite is supposed to come with the right amount of moisture already added. Punching a whole bunch of air holes is going to dry it out. I would say don’t mess with it. Your eggs look good except for the obvious dead one

well that does sound like very good news, However there are not very many air holes. Infact i would say there is maybe 4? out of the whole bin i have them in and there about O <<< A bit smaller then that..is this ok

I had 100% hatch rate with this clutch, yours should be ok.

I don't have any air holes in my egg containers. I open the lid once every two weeks and fan fresh air in but that is all.

thanks everyone. How on earth do i take that egg off though, Is there any way i can VERY CAREFULLY take that bad egg off without hurting it or the others, there like "glued" together

I think you should just leave it. It won't do any harm just sitting there, and there's a chance that it will still hatch.

Don't take it off. Leave it there. If you try to take it off you will do more harm than good. It won't hurt anything. I may go really rotten and stinky but it won't matter. Honest.

Good advice. Its tempting to want to remove it, but don't. As Wade said, it will do more harm than good. Good healthy eggs won't succumb to the mold, you should be fine.

I'm not sure I see the problem..? I don't see mold and I don't see a dead egg. I see snowflaking and windows on the eggs but that's about it. It might not be pretty but if that was the bad egg under the light, I see veins there and that would indicate a live embryo inside. Right? Why wouldn't it go on to hatch?

If I'm overlooking something in the pic, please help me to see it because this is only my second year in and maybe I'm missing something that I need to be made aware of.

Good lord, it looks like you were growing mushrooms.

They looked to have a calcium deficiency. It was kinda cool actually, the ones that were on the reddish side I could look at with a magnifying glass and see the saddle patterns developing, kinda like a womb with a view.:duck: The following year her eggs looked much better.

I bet you're right Danny. I bet it is some kind of mineral deficiency in the mother. I know they give chickens oyster shells to use for grit but they also boost up the calcium for eggs.

wow...All this makes me both excited and nervous for next year...cause next year..I enter the breeding scene..Maize should definitely be of good weight by then...::crosses fingers::

nope, Something doesnt seem right now Some eggs are turning a "highlighter" Yellow. And with the sent of Mold when i open the bin. Isnt good.. What is going on why is it now turning Bright yellow

it doesnt smell good at all when i opened the bin this time, I looked and there are Small "hairs" Dots on the Bin and even parts on some eggs. Also there are now "Bright yellow" spots. i threw out the bin..the more i looked i saw VERY small hairs of mold. i changed it to a new bin with new Stuff as best as i could. My hopes for these eggs are Less and less. but i will keep trying as long as the eggs do too... Photos are being taken right now
