Vin, I assume you use a sealed tupperware (or similar) to hold the eggs. Do the rags stay moist enough for the entire incubation period, or do you need to re-moisten them at all?

yes sealed up containers I have even used 1 gal ziploc bag's I open containers once a week for oxygen. to be honest I have not used it on lg clutches so I dont know but for 6 or less eggs it has worked without re wetting

of coarse I will . Don't fall into the trap of being closed minded. Remember the rodents you feed your snakes are not the rodents they naturally feed on. also corns in nature eat birds and raid chicken coops to eat chicks. Don't fall to the stupidity of closed mindedness

I don't close my mind to anything! I completely realize that wild specimens have a more diverse menu, that could include the occasional chicken coop chick, birds, lizards, other snakes, eggs, rodents or whatever.

glad you have a good knowledge on the animals . Too many people just dont know enough about snakes in the wild

if you dont like what I feed my animals keep it to yourselvs . on furter note I been doing this for about 5 years if it did any ill I would know aboutit by now. the only ill effect was the lack of fat in the diet so being that I use rodents and the chicken/turkey diet it works fine if you need to start truoble I advise you got to your local bar and start a fight.

I may not completely agree with feeding captive bred corns, chicken or turkey. I am not saying it's wrong nor am I trying to turn this into a debate. Especially since wild specimens are opportunistic feeders. But, I think you need to understand that people are going to have a varying opinion, especially in a public forum. Commenting doesn't necessarily indicate "starting trouble." Prohibiting open commenting, IMHO would under mind the basic premise of this website.

So what I am getting at is, that I don't see a need to call foul, based on a brief, non-inflammatory comment. Just My Opinion! :cheers:

at first yes, when I only used chicken and turky but after a few feedings there was only a a slight differance in the smell. any way it all stinks rodents of foul. I have noticed rat give a more pungent smell to the stool too

Very interesting Just wondering as most meats raised for the market are fattier then free range or a family raised animal for meat. Even compared to wild game.

Sorry for all the poopy questions but what about that? is it harder for them to pass that? Isn't their pop more of a solid thing whereas hair and things that come with rodents help pass for them? They don't get hemorrhoid from the lack of fiber? :laugh::laugh::laugh:

You know mice usually have a gut load of seeds, grass or something :noevil: I have to feed puppies and even the gerbils need their very first couple of meals to be oatmeal so they don't rip themselves with first bowel movements. Then I slowly add in mushy puppy kibble till they are set with just dog food. I have fed my show Persians a raw diet especially a few months before show to shine up the coat. But even the kittens start off with easy to pass first meals. I raised my own foul for them though.

Well whatever works for you No one has had a problem from snakes bought from you right and that's all that matters if you like the results.

no problems . I had one snake die on susan but they could not find out why it died . I took care of her any way with some hatchlings. No problems with any other of the snakes I sold. No other problems out of the ordinary any other time of doing 24 years of breeding. I cook the chicken and turkey, Most of the fat boils away even though I cook it for 15 min. I'm affrad of the catching something if I feed raw . You know how dirty the processing plants are .
