i just fed me female burm her normal pig

as she was eating she went up the side of her viv and smashed her light off her off of her viv while it was on

my wife was sat right next to her viv so she unplugged the light before we had a cooked snake

so i had to go in

had to get her head she wrapped my arm up and tryed to get my neck

luckily i had 2 other people in the house to help

bagged her up after one hell of a fight

cleaned all the viv of all the bits that she had smashed

and after another fight got her back in her viv

god my heart is going 10000 beats a second

that is one way to see if ya heart works right

"note to self make sure magentas pig dose not go down the side of the hide again"

Dang, Nick! Glad to see you followed the rule about having another person (or two) with you! That would scare the crap outta me, too!

I would not want to deal with a burm in feeding mode, if my teeny tiny spotted is any indication.

I hope she is OK, did she get any glass stuck in her?

Yeah, I would have left my Burm alone if she got like that during feeding. I would just have unplugged the light and let her calm for a few days before dealing with it and her.

I have my gal hooked trained. If you havent done this yet, I suggest start working with her more. Once you can accomplish this, you should be a bit safer. But never let down your guard. Just imagine if your snake was about 16 feet a 130 pounds?? you wouldn't have been posting here today.

she is hooked trained but couldn't get a good hold with the hook so had a grab her by hand

and no she didn't get any glass in her luckily

and the were no option of leaving her to calm down and go in to get the glass and stuff in a few days

it needed doing right there and then

I have to ask.... Why do you have an unguarded light in the viv? What happens if the light gets smashed when your not there?

looks like you will be putting the lamp outside her cage for now on, huh. Even my most docile burms have always been a force to be reconed with when in feeding mode.

she is normally a very quite girl but when she has eaten

she is like devil spawn

I'm going to get her one of the lights that people used for outside with its own guard

there seem to be safer for a Burma i had one in with her before and after 8 years it needed changing i think I'm going back to them lol
