This just inhales deeply. (Work rant)

Yeah I know and I'm not about to take my child to a shelter.
I'd rather give custody to his father then do that to us.

It's frustrating that when we actually need the support that we've been paying taxes for we can't get it.

I'm actually going to talk to my boss today, and see if they don't just want to lay me off. At least then I can collect my unemployement that I've been paying into for almost 10 years...

I also went to tons of places yesterday, picked up some applications and filled out some online last night. I'm trying lol!
Can't wait to get the sunday paper now for the mega job section.

We've had a lot of discussion about unemployment at my company. My understanding was that if you normally worked more than 32 hours a week and got lowered below 32 hours that you'd be able to collect unemployment. The hour mark is tied into full time (insurance) vs. part time (no insurance). I know that's why we never cut anybody's hours below that point.

I'm sure it's state to state, but it might be worth looking into.

I forgot to mention that it's probably set up that way so dirt bag employers don't cut workers' hours to almost nothing just to avoid paying off unemployment costs.

Well I was never a full time employee but I'm going to look into it and discuss it with my boss, some of the other girls also see some light in my theory that HR is trying to give my boss the hint to let someone go.

Look into something called partial unemployment which they have in my state. Anyone who's hours are below 20 hours a week because of employee hour cuts can file for it and receive it on a week to week basis. It isn't much from what I have lerned about it but it does make your employer either pay up or lay you off. Consider bar tending or waiting tables I did it for years as a single mom and made great money, staying home with the kids during the day, and going to school online...student loans- make them your friend:)

My neighbors daughter was 15 then and watched then for $20 bucks a night. I had them bathed and fed before she got there and had leftovers for her:) She could do her homework and chat on the phone while earning extra money and her mom was 4 doors away if needed which was nice. My parents live in Florida, but living at home you could pay your parents that amount a night if they were willing or ask your sons father if he is normal and local that is. Or even his parents, siblings of yours or his, or post an add in a highschool newspaper and find someone close. I worked 5 p.m- 1ish depending on volume and more like 2 on weekends, but bartending made anywhere from 150-300 a night which is more than you probably currently make a week. Even working 2-4 nights per week you should make some decent money to stay afloat and find something more permanent. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
