My hoggy Baldrick is just over a year old, and I've had him since he was 3 months. He hissed a lot when I first got him, and I thought he'd just grow out of it, but he still seems to have an attitude problem!
He hisses at me when I open his viv to change his water or clean up his poo, but doesn't seem to be bothered when I go to pick him up. He never strikes at me and he doesn't play dead or musk, but I'm just wondering why he hasn't grown out of his aggressive displays yet. Is he scared or has he just got into bad habits?
 
I've had my hoggy lady since 02, I think, and she has not, will not, ever grow out of her 'tude. She hisses and lunges at me (it's so slow I can't bring myself to call it striking) every time I open her tank. BUT she is totally calm once I get her out. I love me some hoggy sass. :)
 
My male hoggy is a big hisser and loves puffing up his hood and striking (usually in the wrong direction, he just wants to show me how very scary he can be!). my female never hisses or anything, she's gentle as a lamb.
