Argument FAQ: Assembling the building blocks

There you go talking about attorneys again. Do you happen to be one? Married to one? I’d like to know the ground rules before I start talking about attorneys.

The ground rules, from my first post on this thread

"the basics of disagreeing while retaining respect for each of the participants when opinions differ"

Wade our opinions can differ and I think they do, here; that of course doesn't mean we cannot respect and like one another. I personally feel that you are one of those people everyone likes.

Are you a man with a plan or a saint with a complaint. - Some Dude

The more I know the less I understand. - Don Henley

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose. - Janice Joplin

Danny's post reminded me of an interview question a fellow teacher often asks new recruits. Kind of appropriate here too me thinks:

"Are you a problem solver or a problem identifier?"

There appear to be quite a few problem identifiers on the internet.

Lucillle, that is a very nice thing to say. I kind of feel like you are having a conversation with me that I am not aware of. I'll try to pay more attention.

Brent that is an outstanding statement. I am going to use that often at work. I employ several problem identifiers.

Great thread, everyone . . . . though I have to say that Wade's posts often skirt the "TMI" zone, occasionally dabbling a toe in the water, and hell, sometimes just full on cannonballing in ~LOL~

I thought the whole panda thing had to do with them being endangered?!? ~LMAO~ You know, "they are on the way out, this thread needs to be on the way out" ~slaps forehead~ I think I tend to see everything from an environmental stand point

Now, if only everyone would read this thread BEFORE they start to fling insults . . . . hmmmm, rather like those monkeys at the zoo . . .

Eric: I tend to go off on tangents, also, because people's comments will spark a thought and then my brain just goes with it . . . my students laugh at me sometimes because I will do that when I am teaching and it is usually a pretty odd, irreverent path to tread

Poor Janice,....I remember that song like it was yesterday. People really used to listen to AM radio a lot more back then. When songs had words...that together formed complete sentences...that communicated ideas...or even a story (ballad).

Brent sometimes, present company excluded, of course, even watching the 'identifying' looks like kids with blindfolds playing pin the tail on the donkey.

You know, I’ve been spending a lot of time at work, which is something I do not usually do. So maybe I’m just tired, I don’t know. Lately it seems like people are talking in code around me. I see my name in the sentence but the words around my name have no meaning. I don’t know if I should be delighted or outraged.

There is no such thing as bad publicity, Wade.

Besides, I love the metaphors. Nichole seems to have an exquisite talent in that direction.
Can you believe that I once had a teacher that chastised anyone for speaking with metaphors or similes? She said "it was a lazy way of talking".
I think she was just flat out dumb, lacked creativity, and resented it in others.

Is it something like this?

Maybe I can help clarify:

Post #28 "Debating weather doing things analy the right way is out of place on this forum"

Post #39 "knotted panties are one of her favs for me to wear. My self-esteem is as stiff as the next guy or more so for that matter."

~LOL~

I hope you realize I was just joking, Wade! I think your posts are extremely funny!

I hope she wasn't an English teacher! ;)

~blows kisses @ Eric~ You are such a sweetie!

EDIT due to Eric's response below: That is frightening!
