I'm looking for plans to build my own snake enclosures does anyone have easy to follow plans?
Including heat tape installation and lighting?:dancer:

There's a big DIY section here (a subforum of Husbandry and Basic Care) that'll burn several hours and give you more ideas than you could ever use. Enjoy!

It doesn't matter what you do but here are some basics that you need to have:

An under-tank heater (sold as heat mats or heat pads) to cover 1/3 or so of the bottom of the tank. Heat tape is fine but most prefer heat mats. They don't use much energy and tend to be safer than heat tape if your thermostat s up or isn't there at all.

Hides at warm and cold side of tank

Water bowl on cold side

Aspen is the prefered bedding choice

Snakes like to climb - vines, branches

Very secure top/lid. if you aren't confident in your locks weigh it down with rocks or books.

Thermometer with probe to measure substrate temp on warm side

85f temp for warm side, 75f temp for cold side - ideally. You can stray from these temps within 5 degrees safely.

If you knew all of this, my bad :)

Oh and lighting is not needed but if there isn't a window in the room just turn on the light in the daytime. They don't have UV requirements like some other reptiles.

Thank you for the info. I need plans for the enclosure and contacts for heat mats.

Pet stores sell heat mats, I would recommend the 'Exo-terra rainforest' mat, its 30-40$ for the large one.

Check your PMs.

I use regular heating pads picked a bunch up at the local thrift store for two bucks a piece I like them the ones I have have tem dials on them and I find is I set them to about 27c I get the 80f that I like..
