Here's some photos of a recent sculpture that I created and painted. I couldn't get the greatest photos, but it's a fairly accurate representation. Enjoy!

Thats awsome! What did you make it with? How large is it?
Thank you so much!

I made it with Super Sculpey and painted it with acrylic. I should probably spray it with some kind of clear coat too. The size is around 10" across, it takes both hands to have it lay flat. Which reminds me that I meant to take a picture of me holding to get the scale.

Gorgeous, I love it!
Thank you very much :)!

That's amazing!! I love it!! Why isn't it a cornsnake? lol
Thank you! I actually made a Ball Python over a Corn Snake because of the fun in creating a BP over a Corn. The shape was a little more difficult to get down, with the heat pits and all.

I did however start working on a Corn Snake afterward, but I wasn't too thrilled about how it was coming out. I think that the nose is just too long.

So I worked on another to get the shape down better. I like this one a lot more, and the colors make it much more enjoyable to paint. I haven't worked on it in a little while, but I will probably finish this one after I'm done with some of my other art that I'm currently working on.

I love the corn snake one! I think this is something that might be fun to look into :) The ball python on is amazing, too, especially from the side! How much time does it take to make these?

I like the color choice on the second corn snake, he'll be cute when he's done. I think part of the problem with the first corn is that his snout is not only a bit long but also narrow. Second corn's snout definitely looks better.

Good job on the ball python, I love the detail you put into it with both the heat pits on the snout and the color shading on the body. Quite lovely.

Any plans on making more to sell here?

FANTASTIC! i love them, i think the long-nose on the one gives it character!

sculpey is really expensive stuff, but i bet if you were really into it you could have some fun and make a bit of money with this hobby! *hint hint...ME WANT!*

These are amazing! The detailing on the BP is so good. And I bet the paint work for a cornsnake will be challenging & fun -- what you have done so far looks great!

Thank you very much. I'm really happy with how the 2nd (Miami) Corn Snake is coming out, so I'm certainly going to finish it at some point. The time of fully making them varies but for my Ball Python I would say that it took somewhere around 20hrs to sculpt and paint (give or take). The majority of the time was spent with the markings, which were fairly time consuming.

Pretty! Great job!
Thank you :)!

Thank you very much, and I really appreciate your input. I agree 100% about the snout also being much too narrow on the 1st. It's also hard to find the right colors to do a Ghost Corn Snake, so that's another reason why I like the 2nd one so much. I feel like the colors that I picked out are fairly accurate to my Miami Corn Snake. I also have no plans to sell on here, as I don't have my shiney yet, but I hope to get that soon.

Thank you so much. The Sculpey actually isn't too expensive either. It's only $12.99 at Michael's, for I believe a 1lb block of Super Sculpey. I probably took an entire block on my BP, but I could stretch it fairly well with smaller sculptures.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun trying to get the detail down, so I appreciate the compliment very much. It was really fun sculpting the head and trying to form a BP head. I was so satisfied with the sculpted head that I almost didn't even want to screw it up with a body, but I'm glad that I did. A BP head would be a little ridiculous, lol.

Cool!

I bet if you had an "extra" one to donate for the Daytona raffle, it would bring in LOTS of raffle tickets for US ARK!!

I just love the detail you put into the BP's face. I like the first corn snake too; his snout may be long but he still looks awesome.

Those are quite impressive! I think you could make a little moolah on the side if you made custom ones for people based on their snakes.

On a side note...what is this sculpy stuff and where do you find it?

I would love to do something like that. Unfortunately I don't have any other completed sculptures, except for a couple of smaller ones that I already gifted out to people. I will certainly be interested in doing something specifically for that next year, though. Maybe I'll even have a drawing or painting.

Nice work Michael!

Thank you! I actually had the completed and hardened sculpture ready to paint for about a week before I got up the patience to start painting. But having the face painted, and in a way that I was actually proud of, it really gave me the initiative to just "have at".

Thank you very much! I'm hoping that maybe they could be a little extra moolah on the side, and the feedback has really been inspiring to keep at it. I took this BP to an art show that I was at for my grandparents, and the response to a snake sculpture wasn't so well received, so I really appreciate all of the kind words.

They couldn't handle how real it looks!! Bunch o'weinies!!
Perfect answer, thank you :D!

My grandmother actually took it home to put in their gallery and forgot that she had done so. Well, it freaked her right out when she opened the box that she thought held paints. She's not afraid of snakes, but she's a little squeamish when they surprise her, and I guess she just about dropped.
