My cat - the Mohawk Kitty!!

Blue Apple Herps

aka Matthew, PhD
This is my cat Steve. He's a big super duper fluffy orange tabby cat who has one of the biggest attitudes I've ever seen in a cat, but is equally as loving.

And every year he gets shaved for the summer to help keep him cool and comfortable. But instead of doing a traditional "lion" cut, I always have the groomer give him a mohawk.

Anyways, here he is the day after getting groomed - the Mohawk Kitty in all his smug glory.

Hahahah, my cousins shave their cats like that but without the mohawk. I think I will have to show them this XD

He looks cool & comfortable. He doesn't mind being shaved? I mean, does he mind the actual process?

LOL... I love it! If I had a long haired cat I'D SO be getting it a mohawk. Thanks for sharing Mr. Mohawk with us.

Thanks for the comments and compliments everyone!

I wouldn't go so far to say he doesn't mind - more like accepts his fate and deals with it. I take him to a groomer that only does cats. So she's really good with him. The first time I took him he hissed, and spit, and growled the entire time. But now he just accepts the inevitable and mostly sits there and takes it.

What he REALLY hates is the bath part of getting groomed. Oh well, its worth it when he smells so nice afterwards.

He's looking smug in that pic because he's plotting your demise. ;)

Oh absolutely! He always has that "one of these days. one of these days..." look to him.

Awwww.... cute! He SO reminds me of my long-deceased cat, Mot. Looks just like him, in fact, 'cept Mot never got a mohawk :).

Thanks for bringing back some really great memories of the only cat I've ever loved as much as I love dogs :). Oh, how I miss him!
