Welcome!
It depends on what is important to you. If you want to be able to handle the snake & see it in person, before you take it home, a pet store is an option, but there's also reptils shows that breeders will go to & have snakes for sale. This is a great option, if you are able to get to a show. From what I;ve heard, prices are pretty good at shows.

I have ordered a few snakes online, & if you trust the person/breeder, this is a perfectly acceptable way to obtain snakes. You won't get to see the snake (other than pics) until the snake is delivered.

If the one in the pet store looks healthy, & no visable signs of mites, & if you really like it, there's no reason you shouldn't get it.

There are several great resources on here, to get snakes from, both babies & adults.

Beware, they're addicting. :)

ok sweet thanks... yea i kinda figured cause i already want a charcol one and a blizzard lol, i jus want a baby one for starters to learn lol

There are a few more things to consider with a pet store or not. From a pet store, you are probably not going to know it's hatch date, what sex it is & what hets (genes) it is carrying. If none of that matters to you, you can get great snakes from the pet store, just make really sure that they look healthy.

sex and genes arent really bothering me right now... i jus am lookin for a nice lookin baby, and learn from there... as long as its healthly, i will be happy for my first snake

Hi, I just bought my first corn at a Petsmart about a month ago! I love it to death, but i have no idea as to the sex or hatch date of the corn):. All that I know is that it is Amelanistic from researching it on my own. But yeah, as long as the sex and details dont really matter to you, the pet store ones make great pets :)

Good luck with whichever way you may decide. I think all but maybe two of my snakes were ordered online, the shipping hits your pocket book a little bit but for me it was the route I wanted to go. It was important to me which morph I received, the age and sex, and I felt a good confidence of receiving a healthy (mite free) and in general better cared for snake. This was just my personal preference and still is actually. Again, good luck with whichever route you go. If you go to a pet store please do a very good look at the snake for signs of any issues. Have fun and let us know when you have your little one.
