Plasma Corn Snake (NERE pickup)!

So, I went to the New England Reptile show today... only looking to get feeders, of course. But I still like to make my rounds...anyways, I had been peeking around a vendors table for a moment when I noticed a beautiful Plasma. He didn't have a price on his cup, I had a fairly small budget, but I thought I'd at least ask. The guy said $70... (Much cheaper than I would have thought), but I still needed to make sure that I got the feeders that I was in desperate need for, so I told him that I may be back. Sure enough, after a long day of paying for breakfast at Mc'Ds, gas, the toll to the Expo and admission as well as feeders, I had exactly $70 left (no lie, and I didn't cut corners to make sure that I had that amount, either)... perfect, right? Well, I still needed to pay for parking, so unless I wanted to be that super proud owner of a new Plasma that was stuck in the Hotel parking lot for the night, I had no choice but to try to talk him down. Wasn't sure that I could at that price, and I hate to sound rude by asking, but I was able to knock down the price to get the snake and parking fee covered.

Awesome day!!!

Anyways, here's the photos (which really is the only interesting part of the thread, lol). But I was just very happy. It's always such a great feeling when everything seems to work itself out in such an unexplainably perfect way.

Thank you for looking :)!

Also, his pupils are literally red. Not just red in the photo, but in any light you can see that his pupils are red. I've seen Ghosts with red pupils too, but I'm not sure why that is? Does anyone know what this might mean? Or is it just completely normal and something that will fade out with age?

He's gorgeous, Michael!!! What an incredible deal!!! Lots of lavenders have ruby pupils. So it's coming from that side of the family!! (Or gene pool, whatever).

Thank you very much, Nanci. I assumed that he wasn't light enough to also be hypo, but the pupil confused me, so thank you for clarifying.

Lovely pick up!

I didn't get to walk around too much but it really did seem like people were giving away their snakes.

oh, those eyes!!

i wouldn't have been able to resist, either! i'm very glad it all worked out for you, because that means that WE get a nice progression thread, RIGHT!

ADORABLE.
I want one, I'm wondering what they look like when they're older though.

I think when I was looking through morphs Hypo Plasma was on my top five.

Oh my gosh wow! Great looking snake. Can't wait to see him/her as an adult.
Thank you! I can't wait either :)!

He's wonderful! Great show pickup!
Thank you! I am very pleased.

He is a very nice plasma, great pickup.

Thanks! I never would have thought that I'd have come home with a Plasma, and I feel very lucky to have found one that I really, really love.

Congratulations, Michael. Nice plasma.
Thank you very much, Eric :)!

I'm so happy that it worked out. I've kind of been in the mentality lately of not feeling bad about feeling good, and things seem to be working out. And there will definitely be a progression thread.

Yeah, it seems like everything Lavender undergoes a pretty drastic color change as they mature, and usually it's the same with Bloodred too, so I'm sure that he's going to be a lot of fun to follow.

By the way... I'm a fellow GSDlover (hence my pic :) ), so great choice for a name!

WOW! That is one fantastic looking Plasma. I am in <3! :D I wish I could have found a Plasma at the WRE today, but there weren't many different morphs to choose from. :headbang: Congrats on your pickup!

I can't wait till the next expo I am 80% certain I will get a plasma if I can find one :p

Also,
Haha, thank you.
It seems like a lot of us snake lovers like GSD's. Your GSD is a beaut by the way.

Thank you very much! There usually aren't too many Corn morphs to choose from at the NERE, at least compared to some of the bigger shows that people post about, so it made it even more surprising to not only find one, but to be able to find one at a price that would stand up at a show where there might be a more saturated Corn morph assortment.

Best of luck to you getting one, though.

I can see why you went back for that little one!!

It's taken years for me, but I finally appreciate most of the Lavender morphs!!

Oh, and btw, I have a story that practically echoes yours! Oregon hasn't exactly caught up to Florida in what kind of morphs we have at our expos, but we're at a point where there are some pretty amazing things available!!

Awesome addition. May he be as Purple as possible.

Sure is purty! I'm partial to all flavors of Lavs.. Your little plasma is male?

Well, best of luck!

And it sure does some like a lot of us love GSD's, and rightly so... and thank you very much, she is my pride and joy :)!

Yeah, it's like the only Corn Snakes that you typically see here are the fairly common morphs. Which makes it all the more surprising that the price would not only be more than market value, but considerably less.

Thank you! And yup... he's a male.

great looking snake i am jealous. congrats.
Thank you :)!
