Kathy Love's Non Feeder Sale

I wanted to post my experience here for anyone who is thinking of picking up some of Kathy's "non feeders".

I've purchased from Cornutopia before, and have always been very satisfied. I noticed her post on non feeders as I was looking to pick up another Miami female to add a new line to my group.

I was interested in trying a couple of them as practice for next spring, when I will finally have snakes old enough to start doing some breeding. I thought it would be good to get some exprience working with difficult hatchlings. After some back and forth correspondance, I added two females NF's to my Miami order to see how it would go. One was another 0.1 Miami, and the other was a 0.1 multi het normal.

They were both more than I expected from day one. Both are beautifully marked, and arrived healthy and active. They are obviously just what she claimed, which are babies that just refused the first two feeding attemps, not culls or defective in any way.

After getting an arsenal of info and supplies together, my "battle" was somewhat anticlimactic  Three days after receiving them, I super scented three pinks by defrosting them in a bag with a half grown mouse. I dropped one snake and one pink each into three deli cups, and walked away. I came back 15 minutes later to see if the "feeder" had eaten, and all three pinks were gone! They all have already taken a second meal 5 days later.

Obviously, not everyone will have it go this way. I just feel that I did receive high quality animals that had a good chance of making it. What more can you ask for 1/3 normal price.

Best of luck to anyone who tries a few of them!

Haha, I know the feeling (see below post) I got 10...3 weeks later 9 have eaten, 1 of which is taking pk from tongs lol

Congrats on getting them to eat ScottyK! I am going to have to try your technique of scenting them with a bigger mouse, maybe the smell of the fur was what made them more enticing.

I love the idea of scenting with an adult mouse! It's funny I don't think I've read that anywhere before and never thought to try but it makes a lot of sense! Funny thing is that some non eaters will eat after being shipped! I had one like that last year.

Congratulations on your new babies.

Kathy Love Rocks!!

Hey Scottie and Chris - I got 10 of them too!! LoL...All 10 of these cute things are thriving and eating like little piggies. They are super pretty - some with amazing color and patterns. Not only was Kathy nice and easy to work with, but she threw in an extra male so I had more choices for breeding them when the time came - how awesome is that??

I got a pretty pair of Okeetee and a stunning pair of diffused/bloodreds along with the non-feeder group. Needless to say I've been busy, but it's been fun :D

So I'll echo that the hatchlings were hearty and beautiful little babies this year!!

Wow! I'm glad, but not surprised, that everyone else is having the same good results. I'll post a couple of pics over the weekend. I want to let them digest in peace.

Tonya- I have a male Okeetee from a KL bloodline, and a female directly from her. You wont be disappointed. The male is my avatar pic....

I'm not surprised either!! I can tell you that I was tickled pink - they were better than expected... :D That reminds me that I've not posted pics of them yet either.

Coming soon to a photo gallery near you....

Great to hear that most are doing well, as I had hoped. Guess I have to charge more for them, lol!
