My new boys!

Mice! They taste so nice!
Over 2 hours travelling and a couple of tube-station mistakes (whoops!) and worth every minute to get to the BRAS show in Essex. I met Nigel (Cornmorphs) and his most gorgeous hatchling, - Nigel, you seriously need to post updates piccies of Madison!, and he had some lovely snakes too. The show was well-attended and it was hard to squeeze through the crowds, but persistence paid off when I got to Alex (Lexcorn). After initial confusion and putting my foot in my mouth, not realising Alex is a girl(!), I fell head over heels for a ghost 66% het blood. Bonanza weighed in at 9 grams and is settling in after eating a pinky.
Then I passed by Phil's table a couple of times, he had a nice selection but the corn I wanted to see was hiding under the paper towel in it's tub, and Phil was busy talking to another buyer. I had a look at the other vendors, and was hesitating over some nice chunky Cali kings, but couldn't really feel that 'mine!' feeling over them. Went upstairs by Phil's stall again, and he was still busy, the corn was still hiding, so I got a mantis nymph I'd promised my boys. Finally, Phil wasn't busy, so I asked him what his 'strawberry corn' was like.
Of course I was smitten when it turned out to be this lovely striped anery! Bret Maverick was 8 grams and has taken a pinky before settling into his new home

Thanks, I now definately have to go to the next show in september!
No pictures from the show, Elle. It was packed, and I'm only short, so the camera stayed in my bag. all you'd have got were wonky crowd shots from me!
Actually, Bonaza's belly is completely clear, so I think Alex was hedging her bets most generously. He shed on the way home, but pooped in the skin so I haven't kept it

I hate it when that happens!! :)

Congrats on the gorgeous acquisitions! They are stunning, especially the light ghost.

I'd never seen any pictures of Alex, so I went and introduced myself to her male helper! After taking my foot out of my mouth, we chatted and she picked out the lovely ghost for me. She also recommended the vendor I got the stripe from.
I couldn't have hoped for a better result from meeting her and just hope I didn't gush too much in my excitement

Nah Janine,

You only gushed a little

I knew that you would be excited over 'toots'...........quite a few Ghost hets 'flew off' the table on Saturday.

These guys are statistically 66% poss. het. as both parents are het. Blood. I know that he & many of his siblings are pretty darn convincing actual het Bloodred.

However, I honestly cannot guarantee his genetics..........so, if he' not het. Blood he is definately a little stunner........if he is then that's good for you (& others) :licklips: :D

B.T.W. It was excellent meeting you & the 'helper' is my beloved 'other half' who, patiently, spent many hours at the show & drove an 8 hour, 460 mile trek to the event

Keep us up dated on Bonanza!

Lex

I certainly will do, Alex. He ate his f/t pinky with gusto and is settled down to the serious business of digestion.

First up, Brett's update. He has pooped a tiny poop, and took his f/t pinky this morning with no hesitation. In keeping with tradition here, he has a bunch of bad-taste roses as a climbing frame/hiding area. He didn't hang around long enough to strike a pose on them after eating, unlike the subject of the next post

Also eager to eat was Bonanza. Some of the pictures came out darker than real life, but I got a nice ventral shot and tried to show his ruby pupils. After eating he posed like a trooper on his silk chrysanths
