EXTREME MAKEOVER: Vivarium/Rack Edition!

RobbiesCornField

Bring it on.
Well, it's not entirely done, so I'll be posting pictures throughout the day of the viv/bin decoration process! I got all leaves/flowers at Big Lots for a REALLY good price! And yes, all fake plants were washed first.

So without further ado, I present:
EXTREME MAKEOVER: Viv/Bin Edition!!!!

First up is Hera. She's a Ruby Eyed Lavender Albino California Kingsnake. This is her first day in a viv. She just moved into it today from a sweaterbox tub. She's gone from the basics, to having all sorts of fun leaves/vines to play on! However, I don't think she much cares for my decorating style... she's already tried to eat me, and pooed on the leaves...

Now, here's the new rack! Well, half of it, anyways... Part 2 is supposed to be arriving today. The tubs are 32 quarts, and there is built in back heat. This particular rack is sold by Reptile Basics, Inc. on ReptileBasics.com

Luci, my '06 snow corn, was my first snake, and will always be my little Princess

Her new bin includes all sorts of fun little vineys, her favorite paper towel tube, and a pretty white flower.

"Oh! I just don't know what to say!!!"

"Oh wait... yes I do... Leave me alone... now..."

Now we have Ms. Nemesis. An '06 Motley Snow corn who wanted her own lap pool.

Josef is an '03 Snow corn (sensing a snowy pattern with these last 3?). When doing the decorating, he wanted to have no part in it whatsoever. However, about 15 mins after I finished decorating, He wanted to have his say so in it, and moved the vines to where HE wanted them.

"OKAY, people. Let's move! Come on! You're going to make me move all this crap by myself!?"

"Fine... that wasn't so hard..."

Next up is Lizzie. Lizzie is an '07 Snopal, with a passion for biting, chewing, tail rattling, and all sorts of other fun stuff. She's another one who, apparently, didn't like where I put her vines or bedding...

"Did I SAY I wanted green? No... I didn't... Take it back."

Now we have Jiang, an '07 Anery. She loves to play hide and seek, so we designed a space where she can hide all she wants!

I have a feeling after this picture, we'll never see her again...

Well, the second half of my rack is here!! Time for more pictures!

Josef S. is an '06 Amel with a passion for food. You put it in front of him, he'll eat it. I swear, half the time he's a kingsnake in a corn snake body. Utilizing his old hide which he has grown so very fond of (the top of a cricket keeper), I tried to work around it and find plants with colors that would go well with his.

Up next is Adolf. Adolf is an '05 Charcoal that happens to like lighter colors that contrast his darkness.

Alex, an '06 ball python, prefers to have his favorite shedding rock match his decorations.

The whole rack:

Napoleon Bonaparte is an '08 Sunglow, who's bright orange tail was the inspiration for the colorscheme of his new viv!

Stay tuned for more updates!

Love the makeover and the comments! I'm due to upgrade the 07s into bigger tubs soon, I must go shopping for my favourite vile bunches of fake flowers!

Put me on the list Robbie! I have my yearlings in the tall 66qts, and they have nothing but newspaper and a couple hides.. Quite sad really, that's a lot of space they can't use. But you've given me some good ideas..

Robbie, I don't know how I missed this thread before now, but let me just say, *snap* Gurrrrlll, you gots mad style with your viv decor! Plus, I've always wanted to say, ROBBIE, YOU HAVE A GREAT RACK!!! ;)

Your little snakies are all set for the holidays now! I have a little lav king like yours. She likes to eat my fingers and poo on everything, too.

Beautimus, Robbie!

LOL! Glad I could help with inspiration!

I don't know what I like better, your set up or the name of this thread.

We'll just call it a tie. :D

Thanks, Lori! And I know... my rack is wonderful! haha! It's in a spot that had a plastic bookshelf thing before that took up twice the space, but could only hold half the snakes. And it was UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGLLLLLLLYYYYYY!!! This is a much more attractive solution! :D
