The Maddest Hatter
Hello :) As you can see I'm new here. :p I recently ((Just today)) bought a Creamsicle(?) Corn snake who is about 2 months old. He ((Unknown sex but calling him 'it' is out of the question)) is just about the sweetest things ever :) Anyway I want to keep him happy and healthy and was pointed in the direction of this site. I hope to learn alot that I don't know, though I do know the basics and meet cool people as well that can help me with an problems that might arise. His name is Benji btw :)

Welcome! :wavey:

That's a very..interesting...user name! Strangely, I really like it!

Hello Benji's servant, welcome.
You'll find that there are plenty of nice helpful people here, and a few curmudgeons.
More of the basics are in a sticky on the Husbandry and Basic Care forum.

WELCOME!!!! :wavey: I'm pretty new here too, and trust me, just by reading and asking questions, you will learn TONS!!! :) Creamsicles are gorgeous! Can't wait to see the photos that you'll post of him! (Does he have a name?)

By the way, my two year old daughter goes around singing your screen name... "CLICK CLICK BOOM!" (saliva) My husband has ruined her! ;)

Yay for being ruined :) Oh and his name is Benji. We aren't sure of his sex but we couldn't call him "it" but I just loved the name. I'll have to get pics up ASAP. My camera is spazzing so it might take a while though -_-

LOL. She does enjoy her music and is VERY picky! :) I just noticed that we have another Texan! YIPPY! ;) I don't blame you on not calling him "it". that just seems so impersonal! :nope: The name Benji sounds great AND you can use the name whether he is a guy or gal!

Which is another reason I picked it! :) Yep Texas is where I dwell. I'm a seriously thinking about getting another on in several more months after Benji settles in and as long as everything goes well with him ((They will have different habitats of course!)) I just don't want to rush into getting another one. :) I was wondering if you know any good breeders in TX. I just want to do some digging to try and find a Motley Sunglow Corn Snake or a Bloodred Corn Snake that is easy to handle and as friendly as can be.

LOL. Yes, we said we were going to wait at least 6 months before getting another one after we bought our baby Jackie (we bought her 7 weeks ago), and then we bought her Daddy yesterday!! LOL They are addicting! I will ask the breeder we got ours from if he knows of a quality breeder with a motley sunglow or bloodred.

We bought the daddy for the exact reasons you mentioned. He is VERY friendly and easy to handle. I absolutely LOVE him.

Thank you very much :) And I fear I will be drawn by their addicting power all to soon lol. Again thank you for any help to can give me. Even if you know breeders near by that don't have those specific types I would be more then happy to check them out. Color isn't as important as temperament and being friendly/handle-able

Howdy and Welcome from a near neighbor! And yes, you can learn lots from this forum, I know I did!

Lesley

welcome to the forums!!!!

By the way, if you ever breed your creamsicle, be sure to lable the offspring as hybrids, because a creamsicle is a hybrid corn.

Hi and welcome!
My personal view is that if you have any doubts at all about Benji's "creamsicleness", you should label all babies hybrids.
I am not really a hybrid person myself..but...as far as a mate for this guy, there are a few people on here who sell striped creamsicles that are absolutely incredibly gorgeous!!
Then the babies would be creams het for stripe.

I like the craziness :) Everyone so far is extremely nice.

As far as breeding goes. I'm not sure if I'm going to go into breeding. I have about 3 years to decide the for Benji. I really don't care as far as pet purposes, what he is but if I do decide to breed I will label them hybrid.

Oh btw here are some pics:
