Kokopelli
Resident Boa Fanatic
The circumstances by which I was lucky enough to have all of my Boas are nothing short of miraculous, at least in my eyes.
These Boas over here cost a lot, and since a lot of people in the field here proved themselves unworthy, payment plans are quite unheard of.
However, this friend of mine, who is actually the reason these Boas even exist over here, for reasons which are to this day beyond me, took liking of me and allowed me to buy my first Super Salmon at a very low price, and with a very long term paying plan- He cut roughly 45-50% of the snake's actual worth, -and- made it so, that I will be able to afford it by paying over a long term. I have to emphasize that this discount was not warranted by usual means- I mean, I just met with him for the first time, and we did discuss that I would be buying a Boa... but I got a discount which I know for a fact was not matched by any other buyer, even people with whom he was friendly and dealt in the past.
Since then, I met up with another keeper who bought a beautiful 2007 female from him- once that to this day, he regrets selling- he told me last week that he think that this is the best-looking female Boa he has ever produced. At any rate, she was sold at a really high(but fair) price to this keeper, but at the time she was down on her luck and needed cash. She tried to sell her but to no avail- I tried to find people to buy this Boa off her, but for some reason, it never came to pass. So after about a month or so, when she told me that she wants to sell this snake at -half- the price she paid initially for her when she was 8 months old- the snake was 16 months of age now.
So... I thought to myself... why not me?
Again, to this day I can't explain this, but I managed to get her, with yet another long term payment plan- and that little lady became my Solaris, whom I adore!
This year, his generosity really simply astonished me. You see, he allowed me to have my pick after he chose only a pair from his most "expensive" litter. I allowed my ex girlfriend to pick before me... and I chose 1.2 little ones for myself. Beyond the fact that I am paying only a fracture of their actual worth, Alon(the breeder whom I am proud to call, friend) yet again allows me to pay for them in a plan spread over a -year-.
I feel that the luck doesn't end there though, for within just two weeks, the male I got started developing intense colors, unlike any of his litter mates did- tending to the redder shades of orange.
Alon, when he saw him, said that he wouldn't have let this fella out of his sight had he known... but there was no way to predict that.
And I was really content and simply thankful, thankful that even though two people chose before me, I ended up with the most unique Boa of the litter- at a low price... I thought to myself, how on earth can I be -that- lucky.
Well, for some time now I saw a change in Lotus, one of the females of the trio... and to my astonishment(I overused the term I know, but I can't find a more suiting one) I saw that she really resembled the male, Phoenix.
I thought that this could hardly be so I put them together for comparison purposes... and I'll be damned, they look alike.
Out of 16 or so Salmons, these are the only ones who took the colors to this direction, and both ended up -here-!
People who followed earlier thread on them, would see the amazing change in the female, for she was nowhere near these colors
So here they are, side by side:
I am not writing this to show-off, just trying to share my happiness, wonder at the turn of events and really thank God, the world, Alon and everyone and everything that allowed this course of events to take place.
The chain of events is really long, and full of unexpected, pleasant surprises.
I wish you all to experience the same joys.
Thank you for reading.
Special thanks to Alon Berger, who though is not a member here, is one of the most amazing people I know.
