Hi everyone,

I'm Cat and I am a 31-year old library tech student from Saskatoon, Canada. I am a longtime snake enthusiast who just got my first pet snake from a classmate who needed to rehome her 2 year old corn. He is teeny for his age, only about 18 inches long and a little skinny and has been fed every 5-7 days since she got him.

He was last fed a small fuzzy on Friday, moved in with us on Saturday, and just ate his first meal with us tonight. He had a fantastic feeding response and made fairly quick work of the small fuzzy.

I'm really excited about him and I am hoping to get him growing faster by feeding him every 3-4 days and moving up to slightly bigger prey in time. I knew that he was ready for a feed tonight because he was stalking my fingertips when I was holding him. He was also coiling around my hand and wrist and squeezing, which probably should have tipped me off to a feeding behaviour.

I'll be reading and asking lots of newbie questions. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hello & welcome from Idaho, USA! Congrats on the new addition to your family! Also we really love pictures of snakes, hint, hint.

Haha We talked on the Chat already Cat, but officially welcome to the wonderful world of corns :D ask away

Tavia, I really love pictures of corns too. I will be posting lots. As soon as I get a camera, like maybe in 9 months. :D

What?? 9 months!

Sorry, dude. I'm going to be a broke student until the end of May, so I probably won't be able to afford a camera until at least late summer. As soon as I get one, there will be a picspam. ;) My little snakeypants may be small, but he is beautiful.
