Oh, and these are the first macro shots I have taken in about 9 months. My poor lens has been sitting in a drawer all that time!

Holy crap Elle, those are fantastic. Now tell me what kind of camera and lens you are using.

I always thought the heat sensing pits were holes, I didn't know they had a bottom.

I am using my Nikon D40 (as always lol) with the Sigma 105mm macro lens. Totally manual as it is not compatible with Nikons motorised auto focus function. The D40 generally is not very compatible with motorised lens' unless they are made by Nikon. And Nikkor glass costs a fortune! But is it worth it...

SIREN!!!!!! *SQUEEEEEEE*
I absolutely love these photos. They are insanely beautiful, as always. I guess that's the benefit of having gorgeous subjects! :)

Those are some close up pictures of a very beautiful snake. :eek1:
Great pictures lady!

I wish I had such a still/cooperative snake and a camera that zoomed in that much.

Ooops, forgot these two shots!

Thanks for the kind words guys. It's nice to be producing some half decent photographs again. I should have taken my macro lens out of the drawer a lot sooner than this. In fact, it should never have been tucked away in the first place!

Duh Nikon is the Best :D I have a D50, but I have my eye on some of their new stings coming out. Awesome pics ;)

Nikon are user friendly! Thats what won me over :) I actually know little about photography. I know enough of the technical jargon to get me buy and produce images the way I want them to look. Thats all I want my camera to do, capture what I see...

Actually, she was very squirmy and a bit overly alert. I did have a camera in one hand, and dinner in the other though :dgrin:

I also took a brief peek at your deviantART site, though I'll have to take a longer look another day as you have many lovely shots to look through. :)

Thanks :) I have made no effort with DA for most of last year. Too much poop hit the fan for me to be inspired enough to work on my photography. I'm picking myself back up a bit now though and just trying to get on with things :)

Well good for you! :) I'll have to check back periodically for new photos on there.

WOW! Gorgeous photos!!! The shot of the scales with water droplets is amazing. It's almost kind of abstract (if you didn't know exactly what it was), and would make an incredible framed image.
