The second one appears to be an opal that hasn't finished with his yolk yet? It was first out of the egg. Two came out like this. I am hoping this isn't a pearl. I hate to think I beat the odds but got some iffy babies. Hopefully they will be ok. I put some damp moss in the tub with them so they can stay moist.

Thanks Sue... processing some pics of the rest of the clutch now...

I got a different looking snake out of the egg today... this one may be a pearl! :D

The one different snake that shows up in the pictures with the amels is the one I am thinking may be a pearl. You can see there are 2 or 3 with yolk still to digest. Looks like I got a good mix of the possible outcomes, I see 4 visually different snakes, so that should mean amel, snow, opal, pearl. A couple of them show some motley patterning too.

I guess just like last year the hard part will be telling if I actually got any pearls or if all the pink ones are opals. I assume all the whitish ones are snows. I actually didn't get any snows from last year's breeding.

PS, I reject the name "snopal" the three genes in one snake were originally called Pearl and that's what I like!

Nice looking clutch. Is it very common to see yolk like that one has? That opal from last year is killer...if you have any opals to see out of this clutch I may be interested.

Thanks! :D

I'm not sure, I've never seen it before. I'm hoping they will turn out ok, the yolk seems to be getting smaller...

Most of the pinker snakes will probably prove to be opals, it will be easier to tell once they shed. I'll post in the cornsnakes for sale forum once they are ready, plus on the webpage in my sig.

I would wager to say that that "pearl" is probably an "opal". From what I have tried to find and learn about snopals/glaciers/pearls, they tend to be very white in color. But of course, it is best to wait a few sheds and see what happens.

That lil one with the whitish stuff inside, I have never seen anything like that. Hope it makes it for you.

Nice looking clutch. That amel is killer bright.

I hatched what I thought was a pearl a few years ago and it was very white with little contrast. Nice clutch!!

How is that pearl doing now? Still have it? Any updated pics Sharon? I would love to see it. I think I hatched out only one last year but it wouldnt eat.

Thanks ya'll. Hmm yeah this pink one may turn out opal. It looks a good bit different from last years opals so I was hoping... we'll see after sheds.

Sorry you guys lost your pearls!

Here are some updated shots:

Amels, looks like one is mot?

The "different one". Looks a lot like the opals in the photo but he looks really different in person...

By the way, the ones with the huge amount of yolk left seem to be absorbing it just fine... it is almost all gone. I think what happened was the room got a little warm at the end of the incubation period.

Note how the different morphs separated into piles... I didn't do that, they did!
