'08 Upper Keys het Terrazzo

Lynnea

That's "lin-NAY-ah"
This is Fanny & Falco, purchased from KJ as little wee worms in 2008. They are a sweet pair and never give me a problem! Really looking forward to breeding this pair next year...

Beautiful animals Lynnea! I have a 1.1 pair from that clutch too... I'm hoping mine will be breedable next year also!

Those were my adults on loan to KJ- He did a great job at breeding them. The female was an Original Craig Boyd line Terrazzo from the late 1990's. 2008 was the LAST year she produced a fertile clutch. She's now retired- she was one of the last surviving orig. terrazzos from a long lost line...I don't know of ANY surviving Boyd bred Terrazzos in the hobby. The male paired with her (as I purchased them as a pair) was a Marathon key animal... I believe Craig Boyd's terrazzo line came off Marathon key if i'm not mistaken. I'm very excited to see PURE Rosy Rat Terrazzo's.... Other than our animals, the majority of the terrazzos in the hobby have been outcrossed to mainland corns.... I have a feeling that we'll see a much better faded "granite" appreance with these being pure rosy rats than we're seeing in the outcrossed lines. I do have outcrossed animals BUT I'm making a special point to keep my pure rosy ones seperate & pure....

Attached are a bunch of pictures of the adults. The two pictures of them breeding were taken by KJ Lodrigue (www.kjunsnakehaven.com)... THAT breeding created our babies! The rest of the pictures I took (notice how KJ is a much better photographer than I-lol)

Enjoy!

Your friend,
Graham

BTW- you can see they have their "daddy's" colors! One of mine has the grey & reddish/orange coloration and the other is straw & orangish coloration.

As you can see, NEITHER had ANY black on them- this should make for some really interesting babies!

Attached are the last few pics I had stored on my computer of the mom...notice her plain belly... dad's belly- like most rosy rats- looked the same!

Enjoy!
Graham
