1 Snake just isnt enough

Me:"I just added a Lavender Motley to the collection!" (not counting hatchlings, I now have just under 30 snakes).
Him:"I have one less mouth to feed!" (not counting hatchlings, he has over 170 snakes).

I just sold off 30 today.. I can sort of relate to the 170.. Of course this winter I really need to decide who goes and thik about getting serious about building some killer morphs ( I have a few multi het freaks.... :grin01: )..

I am actually considering selling off some breedable pairs without breeding them.. *lol*

And no, you just can't have one.. Sort like Pringles ... *LOL*

You see how badly I am infected - I have 2 boas and 3 corns coming this month via FedEx and I went this past weekend and bought a Ball Python. Naturally, I had to name him Monty. I was thinking about Wilson or Spaulding but he didn't fit those names. He was a Monty.

My husband is hoping this is the end for a while. We are running out of space in the living room and, as it is, someone is going into the bedroom; which I think will be either Gaia or Monty. :crazy02:

Hi. My name is Chris, and I am an addict...

I picked up my first corn, Sammi Snake, for my daughter as as Christmas present in early December '06. That opened the flood gates...

I have always been fascinated by snakes...got a BP and an RTB when I was 15(almost 20 years ago... :eek1: ), so shortly after my daughter "gave me permission" to keep snakes by asking for one...we started "keeping snakes".

12/06-female aztec het. amel
3/07-female MBK
3/07-female Florida king
3/07-1.1 Anery motley het. amber
4/07-rescued female BP
5/07-male het. amber stripe
5/07-male BCI
7/07-rescued, recovered and passed on a male Cali king and an 8 year old male BP
8/07-1.1 grey band kings
9/07-Female butter motley
9/07-Gopher snake(male)
10/07-Bearded Dragon

There are a few more I want...my buddy has a few I need to go over and look at...and the shop I work at has a couple...and...and...and...

Yea...definitely addicting. I have plans for a pair of Mexican black milks, a male MBK, a male hypo Florida king, a pair of Mexican hognose, and my friend keeps telling me about a pair of anery stripes he has that appear to be of the "vanishing stripe" variety...he doesn't breed corns anymore, and got them in a trade, so...he wants me to come and look at them, see if I can use them in my projects... :crazy02:

I just have one right now, but I seriously need more... Maybe I can convince my parents for this Christmas..... :santa: Still, I did manage to convince my Chem teacher to get one. She has a Lavender het Opal poss. het stripe comming in the mail any day now, and my Opal girl is just DYING to meet him.... :grin01:

:bang: lol, yes No cure, and even if there was a cure, I wouldnt want it!!! LOL

This is a good kinda addiction! I'm up to three soon to be 4 snakes. 2 Ball Pythons and 2 Corn Snakes 2 normie BPs and 1Miami and 1 Blizzard, I was also looking at a striped but,, no more until I move out lol.

I'm SO desprate to get MORE and MORE and MORE supplies, and larger tanks, and lighting, and suppliments, and bedding, and backgrounds etc. I'm working as much as I can to get as much money as possible, just to buy stuff for my repti, cat, dog kids.

:crazy02: Christmas and Halloween is coming around, my Halloween/fall/winter/Christmas pictures will be coming soon, ( ***you've been warned *** ) :santa: :sidestep:

This a great thread.Until 3 weeks ago I had never had snakes.I got 2 corns for me and my boy to enjoy,we love them. However we feel we would like to add to our collection already.

I know this is a corn snake forum but I would like advice from you experienced guys about which kind of snake would be good to get, considering that we are newbies.

If you ask in the General Chit-Chat section, there are plenty of people that would be happy to give you an opinion...and they will run the gammut...

I started with an adult corn and king that I got from a co-worker. I am adding more corns and two boas to my collection. This past weekend I got a ball python who is extremely laid back; but, feeding with tongs is strongly recommended. Get a captive bred, captive hatched ball python if you want something different than a corn. Their housing is a little more complicated than a corn but well worth it.
