thanks
and correct crested geckos...close enough rhacodactylus ciliatus

I love them...great b/c they come in a wide variety of colors (red, orange, yellow, brown, grey, olive, white, black) and patterns (patternless, bicolor, dalmation, fire, harlequin, pinstripe)...love the variety and they do well at normal room temp....really great hardy little guys

yeah...I think they're great...for years I looked at leopard geckos and they just didn't catch my eye enough...I love the variety of cresteds...they have sticky feet and will climb the walls...or jump (from hand to hand if I have one out...though one just loves to keep running up my arm and onto my back)

you can get buckskins (brown/tan) starting around $50...mine start at $60 for red/pink family or yellow/pastel orange....fires (the pattern) like the ones above start at a bit more...

extremely easy to care for...they do well at room temp 72-78 (too much over 80, they don't do well)...you can keep them in a natural or artificial environment...mine are on paper towel with a nest box (sprayed a couple times a day) for ease of cleaning and finding eggs....lots of plastic plants all over the back and a bit on the side...if you choose the natural route, potted plants and such can be added though you might have to hunt a lot for eggs...females will indicate laying by digging 1-3 days in advance...

some people use reptariums, but they do need a bit more humidity than those usually hold but some ppl have success with them, I think depending where they live...critter keepers work as do glass tanks...some people have modified rubbermaids adding screen to air flow and such

I alternate feeding....every other day either crickets or Crested Gecko Diet (powder by Sandfire/TRex) mixed with baby food...you can feed just CGD mixed with water but they really do like the hunt of the crickets...
eggs incubate at the same room temp you keep adults at so no incubator needed on 1 part water to 2 parts vermiculite or peritlite by weight...
my little ones are in critter keepers and adults are in 20G and 27 or 29g...

to add...baby food should be fruit non citrus...such as peaches, apicots, apples, pears, bananas, mango, papaya

Cresteds are so awesome to hold, it's like holding a living velvet animal. They have a really neat texture.

not so easily....the only one I had lose a tail was when I was trying to catch her to put her in a smaller container when I was moving...my dog was interested and near and she new it b/c I'd never seen her flip out or as fast as that and she dropped her tail...but that was the only one
I keep them singly...sometimes keep clutchmates together the 1st 2 months...and all single unless in colony after
