I'm sorry for your loss Clint. You're not alone in that sort of a situation. This spring, I had a pair of siamese twins "hatch" out. Actually, only one made it's way out of the egg, as far as it could go. It's twin, joined to it at it's umbilicus and sharing most of the lower body before splitting again just above the vents and tails, died before it could make it out of the egg. It also had a deformed head (the dead twin). I euthanised the other since I knew it would die fairly soon being attached to a dead twin. Unfortunately, I didn't have a functional camera at the time to take a pic before finally disposing of the bodies.

Those types of things are just not meant to be. I've still got the little guy in the freezer. I thought it just might be odd enough to be of interest to somebody.
Sorry to hear about your little one. It's sad to see but it's just a fact of life.

Yeah you would really have to have bad eyesight to see that that snake does in fact have two tails, and not a cord from the birth. Its obvious as you can see pattern on both. I think Clint would recognize that after as many babies as he seems to have!

Wow, this is the first time I read the post (sorry Clint its a shame but c'est la vie I suppose)
Were there 2 vents or did the tail split at one vent? Its such a shame when something like that happens.
And yeah, BMM, I agree you'd have to have pretty bad eyesite to mistake an umbilical cord for a whole other tail!! LOL;)
 
That was so weird, cool and crazy all at once! That must've been tough. Good call on putting it down! Kind of a different circumstance to be in!
