24g '06, how does she compare?

Corny Noob

Since I obviously have no idea.
I mean she looks long, but I think she still looks very petite and was only being fed once a week. She is also missing her normal feeding day due to me letting her settle in.
So is she under? Mediocre? ...?

My baby is a late 06. When I got him in February he was 16g. Now he's 26. I think it depends on how long they were on a maintenance diet.

Well I'm also trying to find out what part of the year she was born in too, I was so excited I forgot to ask, so I dropped the breeder an email for that.

There's nothing you can do about it anyway except feed her according to schedule. Once they hit fuzzies, they take off!

From there they just grow up so fast. .

Well according to the munson plan at 24 grams she just makes small fuzzy for 5-7grams.
For her first feeding I'm only going to give her one pinkie though, small meal to start off.

I have a BP that was 97g two weeks after i got her...she is now pushing 200g after almost a year of having her.

Once you start her on the Muson Plan she'll start to gain weight steadily...and they do take off once started on fuzzies.

belated condgrats on getting her!!

Ahh so you got a charcoal eh? My 2nd corn is an 05 male charcoal het amel (blizzard) and I ended up getting a female blizzard as an eventual mate for him.

24g is small for an 06 but normal for one just purchased from a breeder.

She should gain weight quickly if you feed her every 4 or 5 days.

My 2 latest corns are 1.1 06 silver queen ghosts that were 21 and 27g, in under 2 months they have already almost doubled that.

It's so true, lol.

i got my 05 male and he was 91 grams when I got him in late Febuary and he is now 125 grams. I know he's older than you're guy, but they definitely hit growth spirts every once and a while.

After reading through the American vs European feeding schedule and seeing many people discuss weights I'm bumping this to get more opinions.

My May 15th, 2006 Okeetee is 27.93 Grams.

I got her on February 21st and she weighed in at 24 grams. She had a regurge in March so her weight slipped to 22.14 grams.

So in less than 2 months since her regurge she has put on 5.79 grams or 26%.

She’s feeding on large (~ 3-5 grams) pinkies right now. I have had one complete shed so far and she is blue as I type this.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Steve

Mr. Icky is about to hit his 1 year birthday on the 15th of May. (5/15/06 birthdate.) At my last measurement, about 3 and a half weeks ago he measures 24.5 inches and weights a nice 60 Grams. I am sure he has grown even more being that I jumped him up to two fuzzys every 5-6 days. He should really be on Hoppers but I am going to finish up these Fuzzies I have.

My 06 is 38 grams right now and 24 inches. I'm not sure of his age because he was a PetCo buy in late December. Hope this helps ;)

Thorne's an 06, born in August, and he was 27 grams when I got him last month. He just had his second feeding yesterday--the first was followed immediately by going into blue--so I'm not sure quite how much he weighs at the moment, but yours seems pretty typical from the research I was doing. I was worried he was awfully small for his age, but it's looking like I was thankfully wrong.

I'm not sure wwhat it is. I'm sure it's partly genes, but the differeces in sizes are insane.

I have one 05 male that is 135 grams, while my 05 female is 315 grams! I got them 2 and 5 months ago respectively. They are both getting the same food now, but I got them from different breeders and diffferent gene lines.

Interesting fact: TiggerHappy and I both have snakes from the same breeder hatched on the same date, yet Mr. Icky is 60+ grams, while mine is 28+ grams.

Now, it's entirely possible that our snakes came from completed different parents, but an interesting fact none the less.

Things that make you go HHHMMM...

Regards,
Steve

I cut the prey items for all of my snakes. It helps them digest faster and more completely. Less waste and they seem to grow pretty fast.

I've also been feeding more and more African soft furred rats, I don't know how they compare nutritionally to mice or rats, but that may help the growth rate. They seem leaner than rats.
