okay everyone Chua is doing better and Hydra is about to shed so we should have eggs from her soon, but my Champaign corn is a really fussy eater and I have not clue on how to get her to eat good she hasnt eaten in about 2 1/2 weeks and I know that they can go awhile without eating but I know she is hungry bc everytime I put her in the feed box with the fuzzy she acts like she wants to eat it but then she doesnt I have had her in there with the fuzzy for hrs and still nothing will she always be a fussy eater and is there anyway I can get her to eat better? please any help will be great

Is fuzzy a new size for her? Maybe she is having issues with the fuzz? Have you tried giving her a pinky to see if she'll take that? That's probably what I'd do is back her down a size and see if she'll eat then.

she has been eating fuzzies ever since I got her and I have tried pinkies also but it still took her hrs just to eat it she is a very fussy eater

Who was her breeder? I know from experience that the Champagne line are slow starters but once they hit their stride they are fine.
You might try washing the fuzzy with Ivory soap. Sometimes they just don't like the way the prey item smells.. I feed a lot of animals at once. I've learned that sometimes just swapping out one food item for another does the trick. This doesn't work easily for people feeding only a few snakes, hence the washing.

I got her from a friend of mine, she was one of her hatchlings and she said that she was always a fussy eater and I feed live and I know alot of ppl dont like that but thats how I do did.... and she doesnt like frozen anyways and plus I breed my own mice to feed my snakes and it just makes it easier...

To be honest, if your feeding live it pretty much eliminates some of the preferred methods such as braining.

THIS thread may be of some assistance, of course it works on the premise of feeding F/T.

I would add the use of fish oil to this list as well as some members have had success with it.

Try washing the f/t with soap and let us know. It sounds stupid but it worked for my 3 year old male who was raised on live.

thanks Ill try some of these and see if it helps

Braining is cutting through the skull to release some of the cerebrospinal fluid or even brain matter. Something that can only be done on a f/t mouse.
