9 days... Should I be worried?!

I fed my corn snake 9 days ago (last friday) and he took it fine. The mouse was a little smaller than his usual feed though.

He has been drinking and moving about and thermoregulating ok since, and the temperatures are fine, but he still hasnt gone to the toilet!! Its never been more than 5 days after eating before he has gone before. Oh and he hasnt regurtitated of course, so his meal is definetely still inside!

Should I be worried about this? Is he not digesting properly?
 
I feed every 10 days. Jakes a big snake, his poo is not normally small and I use astroturf so its not hiding anywhere! Besides, I would be able to smell it haha!
 
I wouldn't worry. I know what you mean about big snakes- I came out of my bedroom this morning and just about fell over since apparently Jake went during the night! Luckily he didn't go while he was out watching TV with me the night before!

You should try bathing it in lukewarm water for a couple minutes. If this doesn't work, I'd double check the viv for it and make a vet appointment. It's possible that he could have ingested some substrate and gotten blocked up.
 
I agree I wouldn't worry either. Both of mine have went that long w/out feeding & then they did. Hang in there I know how hard it is not to worry! :)
 
Actually, the more I think about it- I think you need several more snakes so you forget how many days they have gone without pooping. But going for a swim as Topazfyre suggested will probalby get things moving if you just can't stand it.

'He' is a SHE lol and yes, astroturf, so no substrate ingested. Besides, I don't feed in the viv.

Thanks for all the advise, still no poop today, fed him on Sunday night so maybe by tomorrow if theres still no sign I'll give him a wee bath. And yes, astroturf, so no substrate ingested. Besides, I don't feed in the viv.

It's not the feeding part beaniebopps is concerned about...it's what happens after they have digested their meal is where the concern lies.

Notice I didn't mention poop in my reply...wait a minute, I just did...darn it :crazy02:
