Had a couple of hours before seeing a client so I headed to Silverbluff Audubon park to try to catch a few photos of the nesting bald eagles there...had some success!

Oooh, I love the hawk looking back at you! And I like the Kingfisher in the bare tree. Great photos!

I was very excited to get even a halfway decent shot of the banded kingfisher. I've been trying to get a shot of one for several years starting with my herping trip in Costa Rica......spent an entire afternoon chasing one down a canal in a canoe...it taunted me by waiting until I would just get close enough to take a photo and would bolt another few hundred yards down so I'd have to go after it again! I see them when I don't have my camera with me (I carry it all the time now) or I go to get the camera up...gone! Annoying critters!

Thanks Rich! Still working on improving and this lens is still teaching me things! It's a fixed 800 mm and with the f8 setting that it comes with, I find I have to use high ISO to get photos that aren't too dark.....and then you end up with noise! Still discovering the "sweet spot" and following moving stuff....pretty funny sometimes! I look like a drunk fool trying to track some of the birds but I occasionally get lucky as you can see!
