Hello. :D Name's Lacey but I like nicknames. Feel free to give me all the nicknames.

I got my first corn on March 5th, 2013. I bought him from BHB Reptiles not too long ago. I don't really have any photos of him but I do have a video! You can see the cutie below!

I apologize for the bad quality. I believe he is a Creamsicle and I have named him Creamboy. I don't really know too much but I tried to get his tank set up right enough. :) This video is before I bought my Hydrofarm thermostat, which is working well so far. My first time feeding him is tomorrow, so I'm excited! I'm also very pleased that he hasn't bit anyone!

Lastly, funny story. I went with my family to the mall and when I got back home, the first thing I did was check on him. I couldn't see him anywhere so I panicked! I thought he had escaped. My dad looked for him, turned out he was buried in the aspen on top of the heating mat. He was fine but I am deathly worried about him escaping. Since the day I received Creamboy, he had yet to burrow so I didn't expect this.

I'll make sure to take some pictures for everyone!

I love how towards the end of the video he scouts the side of the viv, stops for a second, looks at the camera, turns head back, moves forward, stops, looks, repeats a few times.

Count yourself lucky. My Plissken discovered burrowing 2 days after coming home, and I haven't seen him once in the last 5 days or nights.

Yes. I do like that part as well. ^^

Oh my! I hope he comes up soon! I've been doing some stalking.. er looking around and saw your snake. He's very pretty and I like how your tank is set up. :)

hello and welcome!
you came to the right place to learn about your new little friend! ;)

there's tons of neat info on here, you'll learn a lot!
feel free to ask any questions!

What do you mean you _believe_ he is a creamsicle? Based on what? Didn't BHB tell you what he was when you bought him? I ask because a creamsicle is not a pure cornsnake, it is a hybrid, and you shouldn't just _guess_ that he is a creamsicle based on what you think he looks like.

Sorry. >.> I guess that was a mistake on my part. I shouldn't have put that then. He is a creamsicle. He is "labeled" both creamsicle on their product page and on the deli cup he came in. I don't really mind that he's a hybrid. I didn't really have any intentions to breed him. Could you tell me a little bit more on how a creamsicle is achieved please?

Oh, don't feel bad for buying a creamsicle- they've been around since the 1970's! They are very popular, and lots of people breed and enjoy them. The problem comes when you breed your creamsicle to a cornsnake and the babies all look like cornsnakes, and everyone forgets that the hatchlings have P. emoryi blood.

Creamsicles are created by mating an amelanistic (no black gene) Cornsnake (Pantherophis guttatus) to a Great Plains Rat Snake (Pantherophis emoryi). The albinos are creamsicles, and the normals (non-albinos) are rootbeers.

I don't really feel bad! I'm glad I got him! He's so cute and I love the way he looks. Thank you for telling me all this Nanci!
