A upgrade in the tank...but not really what i wanted

ok peak a boo is growing a bit more.so i got a few more things in her tank. And she seems to love it right away. The first thing she had was a 10 gal tank snake bedding a small dish with water.A rock with leafs in it, and i rock hide...the new things are a bigger water dish so she can lay in the water if she likes. still have the rock with leafs but it dips in to the water so she can have more help getting out of the water bowl. her rockaway hide now has moss in it... now i wanted to get the white moss...but they ran out at the petshop so i got green moss.. is that ok for her :shrugs: . and i got her some more leafs to hide in.

yeah i wanted to get her a branch but they didnt have any that looked nice or they where too small or i will go back sooneror later to see some other stuff

hey dark,
is that a heatlamp you have on top of your tank. if it is then what wattage do you use. i have a 100 watt bulb but find its to hot.

mines not hot idk what it is i know its the smallest you can get but its cool becuse after you turn it off it makes the tank glow in the dark.

Pfft you don't need to buy your lovely Peek a branch go find one! Just make sure you clean it off and bake it in the oven at 250* first!

Uh you know, that part I don't know.
But I've heard everyone say time and again baking is the way to santize things for a snake tank o_o

I believe a relatively low heat, say 200, 250 for a couple hours is recommended to sanitize many things, but get a better opinion.


I'd be careful with wood, not because it might catch fire (you need to get pretty hot for that, just don't let it touch the heating element!) but because if wood is completely dried out, as baking would do, it is much easier to break. You might go from a sturdy branch to one that snaps with any pressure.


But again, zero experience with it. :shrug: Just a thought.
