This guy is supposed to be an Abbotts. I wanna make sure before I get him!! I LOVE them and have been watching for one. He said he was donated to the Sonoran Desert Reptiles Inc. at the Tucson reptile show... :)

the borders look think and black. the colors seem a little washed out, but that could just be the pic or shed cycle. an abbotts okeetee are line bred by lee abbott, an extreme okeetee is a line bred normal with thick black borders bred to look a locality okeetee.

It "could" be an Abbotts, not everyone of them is an A+, it could be an Abbotts crossed into another line of Okeetee, and it could be just a pretty normal. When that chain of information of what line it came from/who bred/where it's from gets lost in the shuffle, it all becomes speculation. If you can find out more on it's background that would help. :)

Whatever it is - yes the colors will develop more with each shed.

The borders are thick so I think it could for sure be called an Okeetee phase corn.

However without knowing for sure who bred it and/or where their breeding snakes came from you couldn't breed it and sell the babies as Abbotts...

Hmmm, well they say this little guy was donated to them at the Tucson reptile expo to raise money for their organization, and they said it was Abbotts. I am trying to find out who donated it...

Looks like a normal corn with large borders. Abbott's are pretty bright and clean. This animal looks more like my locality Okeetees that I used to breed...they developed quite a bit of a melanistic wash as they matured. So the colors don't stay quite a bright, but my goal was pure line true Okeetees from the Okeetee hunt club and not trying to make it look different. My avatar is one of the Okeetees.....I think that little snake is a very pretty normal and for that I LOVE it!

Meg, I have two Abbotts Okeetees, both hatchlings, and both are pretty dull right now. They don't start out bright and clean. In fact, the general advice I've heard regarding okeetees is to pick the 'ugliest' ones because they end up better looking as adults. :p

Mine were true Okeetees so I have no idea about the Abbott's....all the ones I've ever seen were very clean and bright, even when young. They were clearly Abbott's. Mine were true wild types with all the melanism that comes with that...some didn't even have large borders, but they were all pure from Okeetee Hunt Club snakes....
