hi guys. just wanted some advice please. i recently adopted this snake from a lady who couldnt keep her anymore. i dint ask why i just thought he was sweet and had a great personality. i notice this kinda rough patch on his scales by his head and wanted to no what it was and how i could make it better. he is still eating and he seems really happy in him self.

Do you think he's going to shed very, very soon?? Has he always had it, or is it pretty new?

When I got Jake, he had weird looking stuff on his nose. I didn't recognize it as a sign of shedding at all. And then he shed that night.

go to the drugstore and by some antibiotic ointment from the firstaid section and apply that to the area once a day. it will kill any live bacteria that is causing the scale issue and will be cleared and healthy on the next shed or two.

My amel used to get rough scales like that, especially at breeding time when he became super active. He would end up rubbing his scales and wearing them more due to his activity. They would smooth out at the next shed. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
