Taste the Rainbow
Hello Everyone! :wavey:

Was just curious, because I know more people have been around this block then me, about where are the best places to get supplies for my snakes. Being a college student, money is tight but I'm beginning to build up my supplies for when my wormlets will need larger cages. Pet store prices seem to be way to expensive, especially when it comes to food. Some of the things I am going to need are :

Heat Tape
Thermostat
Digital Thermometer

I have the tanks and stuff for them, but I'm super concerned about using a tank with a separate screen top versus a zilla critter cage with a sliding and locking top. After my last escape escapade the last thing I want is to lose one of my beautiful babies. Any ideas on where to get a zilla cage at a decent price?

Thanks in advance! :bird:

I got a plug in lamp dimmer at Home Depot for $10 to adjust the temp on my UTH.

Got an indoor/outdoor digial thermometer (with probe and humidity reading) for $12 at Wal-Mart.

I lucked out on my critter cage, Pet Supplies Plus was having a sale. I also frequently check craigslist.com for tanks and find great deals on them! (like $25 for a 55-gal)

I don't use heat tape, so have no clue where to find that.

A fellow member on here sent me to reptilesupply.com and the prices look great !
Order was really fast too !

Try craigslist for vivs/aquaria that can be used as a viv. I recommend cleaning with a solution of bleach & water then letting dry for days before use, but bargains are available. I got a 40 gallon for not much $ the other day, which a new snake is moving into.

Tubs are cheap too -- there are threads here about how to set them up. I was going to do that but craigslist is working great for me, so now I can buy more snakes. :)

Try ebay. I got 14 feet of heat cable there for $8 + $4 shipping. You can also find the exact product you want and run it through something like www.shopzilla.com or an equivalent website.
