Cool stuff Vinman! I just picked up some juvenile ASFR that should begin breeding in the next 2 months I believe.

What breeding rations are you doing 1.2 1.3 1.4? How large of cages are y'all using for the breeding groups? I've never messed with breeding feeders but I recently moved and don't have access to live pinks...plus I always end up with a few stubborn feeders...

I use lg mouse lab cages. 18 X 9 X 6.5. I have different rations in each cage 1.1, 1.2 1.3 1.4 . I want to see which rations works best. I most likely will go with 1.3

I had a baby corn that since it hatched, only ate once. After that, no matter what I tried it wouldn't eat. Wasn't even interested in the pinky...only interested in trying to strike at me! This went on for about a month.Well, I figured I would sacrifice one of my only 10 ASFR pinkies just to see if the hatchling would do anything. It ate that sucker right away! I was so suprised and happy to see the baby finally eating.

How big is an asf pink? Is it comparable to a mouse pink?

a tad larger than mice . the larger the brood the smaller the pinkies. That goes for both species

So there is no issue with feeding newborn asf pinks to newborn corn hatchlings? I mean size wise?

Thanks for the info. I am looking at an ad right now for a 1.3 breeder colony with a 10 gal. tank with hides, and water bottles for $25. I might just have to pick that up now.

their pinks are a perfect size for a hatchling as long as you take them away as soon as the momma gives birth. even my leopard gecko females take em down with no problem.

Just make sure there not to old. Sometimes people get rid of old breeders that are to big for there reptiles. A good question to ask, How old are they?
My ASF's breed around 4 months and my 8 month olds are starting to slow down, still having litters just further apart.
