Don't laugh ok. I am installing landscape lighting today, and in order to have the lights on both sides of my house, I had to run the wire through the crawl space screens, around the back of the stairs and out the screen on the other side of the home.

So I had to go into my crawl space, alllllll the way in the back, where I ran the wire through, put it through the screen and push it through the next hole outside.

The crawl space has a tiny light which does nothing so its very dark, I get real low, crouch down and walk all the way to the back, and as soon as I get to the screen where I see the wire, I look down and they are snake sheds EVERYWHERE!!!

I flewwwwwwwwwwwwww out of there!

Yes, I know, I own snakes....but it was scarey. I finally worked up the courage, to go back and grab the wire and finish my job.....I didnt see anyone, its dark, damp, ideal shedding environment.....my question is, looking at the sheds, the shed has black pignment in it, diamond like shaped, like it came off a black snake.....

Any ideas on what it is?

Judging by the size of the shed, Chloes is about the same size and she is almost 500 grams! Yikes!

With a title like that this was a must-see thread! At least you know you've got rodent control on duty in the crawlspace

I'm sorry... But... LOL! I probably would've run screaming, too. Especially if I lived anywhere with venomous snakes. (Although, where I live now, I would've run screaming--come to realization--grabbed the snake hook--and started fishing!)

"Diamond-shaped"... Makes rattlesnakes come to mind. =/ That'd be cool if it were black rats, though. =3

I was looking through our native snakes, could be anything, including black rat.

If I had to guess, judging from my area, I am going to say something that could live off of frogs and lizards, which our subdivision is crawling with.

I thought the same about mice too LOL...as I went back into the crawl space I was thinking, well at least I know I wont be bunking into any rodents in here. My friend was like "OMG are you going to call pest control?" Nooo. We have to have vents to air out the crawl space, the home is built like that, I cant stop snakes from squeezing into them. And why wouldnt they, its dark and no one ever goes in there.

I just was NOT expecting that and I wouldnt be caught dead in that crawl space at night thats for sure.

If I wasnt such a wuss, id go back in and pick one of the sheds up so I could snap a pic.

See thats the kinda thing where....I would have just stayed down there..and if nothing showed up..I keep going back..
I like that sort of thing tho. I guess.

...maybe I am just weird..:noevil:
