always burrowing?

my female corn is about 2-3 months old and i barely got her a couple of weeks ago but during the day she is always burrowing and at night she'll come up because I'll find her in the morning in her hide, but is it normal for her to be burrowing this much?

my male does the exact same thing... i see it as nothing to sorry about. i only panic when he does it at the hot end of the tank because the glass directly above the heat mat gets very very hot.

And how hot would that be??
Just move the probe of the thermometer there and you can tell how hot, hot is. :flames:

its never above 84 degrees but it just feels much warmer than the top of the aspen... i get a little scared incase it could hurt him but it obviously isnt

My girl does it at the total opposite end of the hot part, yur supposed to lay some repti-carpet down before the substrate for that buring possibility, I just used some material from the back of an old couch, it works fine

What? I haven't used that reptile carpet ever. I dont think it is absolutely necesary. i just have about an inch of aspen

thats what i have too.. i dont see it as necessary but i will put a layer of two of newspaper down next time.. puting anything thicker than that could block the heat getting through couldnt it?

OK, your losing me..... never above 84 degrees but it just feels much warmer than the top of the aspen... (and we know it "very hot" on the glass). You know that your body temp is about 98.6. so....it feels warmer than your body temps Hmmm...
What are you using to read your substrate ???? I would be scared too.
Hey do what you want, cause you know it's hot already but I would work on straighting that heat problem out.
Enough said.

Good Luck :wavey:

hmm what now you have lost me lol. i use a thermostat that regulates the heating mat so that it never goes above 84 degrees and i have internal and external thermometers (digital)

it just feels warm to the touch thats all...

Mine often hides out under the bark shavings of her tank. At night she wanders around though. I'm guessing this was normal for a noctournal reptile?

Putting repti carpet will NOT make your corn safer, nor will putting down newspaper. Snakes can and will get under these. To make your corn safer, get a thermometer, and a heat regulating device like a thermostat or rheostat.

Your skin temp is 91'. If something feels warm to the touch, then it is warmer than 91'. Something that is 84' will feel cool to you. I have a hard time believing that something that is only 84' will feel warm to the touch. Double check your temps right on the glass in the center of the UTH.

i really dont understand that because my heat pad always feels warm to the touch and i have a thermostat that regulates it under 84 degrees...
somethings not right about your statement?

?????What part of Becky statement can't you understand????
You are warmer the 84 deegree. It should not feel warm!!

but it does... so thats what i dont understand. its regulated to not rise above 84 degrees... atm its at 81 and that reels slightly warm... its not a hot heat its just warm.

Well, Start with body temps at 91 , which I think is 98.6, but any 91 degrees
You have your setup at 84 degrees, and ....it feels warm. Something is broken or your just have a body temp of, lets say 79 degrees. I would think what every your using is broken.
