I See Snakes...
And a couple dilutes thrown in... These pictures are from when they shed last month, but I hadn't been able to get them cropped until now. I'm also missing a few of them, but hard to tell the difference between one black and gray dotted snake and the next and these ones are all very similar. lol

First, here's a pic of the parents:
Mother, Galena (It's an older pic, but fairly accurate on her colors)

Father, Slate (Another older pic, though again, fairly accurate - only he's bigger now)

I really need to get updated pics of them both though.. along with about a dozen or so other adults we have. lol

First up, are the 1.1 pair of dilutes that hatched out from the clutch. I plan on keeping both of them, though Tim hasn't realized it yet. *snickers* I've been wanting a pair of dilutes since 2006 though, and here they are:

The female (unnamed as of yet):

And the unfortunate belly shot:

Yes, that's from where her umbilical cord was attached. It's looking much better than it did before her first shed, and she's eating fine, so we'll see how she comes along after a few more sheds. And no, she didn't leave the egg early with the cord still attached. At least not that I could tell.

Now for the male (also unnamed right now):

I just love his head pattern! It looks so different from his siblings.

And the reluctant belly shot:

Now for the rest of the babies... they all have similar head patterns and saddle patterns, though it's an even split between those that are dark like mom and more brown like dad was as a hatchling. They are also mostly all females.

#3:
Not while I'm in the bath!

Fine, I'm done now.

Are you happy I'm out!?

And that brings us to #10:

There are, of course, three more hatchlings, but they didn't want to sit still long enough to get their pictures taken at at the time I'd run out of patience after dealing with over 20 squiggly hatchlings. So I will get the others either tomorrow or next week after the Anaheim show.

Enjoy! =)

Beautiful babies you've got! Congratulations!!! :)

And that #9 is most definitely something to keep for yourself! I love her pattern and coloring. High contrast and those "motley spots" between saddles are almost white. Really beautiful girl.

Thanks!

Yeah, #9 is a sweet girl... she's the only one that came close to having mom's pattern as well as color (from when she was a hatchling) and if the little female dilute doesn't make it I'll probably keep her. Either way, she'll be a looker when she matures.

There all so pretty... Good luck, I hope the little one with the umbilical cord opening heals good, she's a cutie... :)

#11 looks like it might end up being a nice Hurricane! I can see little hints in there.
You know, I never even noticed that until you pointed it out. It sure does look that way though.

Thanks, so long as she keeps eating for us I think she'll be fine and eventually it will heal over. And for the most part, it looks worse than it is in the photos - thankfully.
