Now what, Oh Gawd more potential 'Keepers' from 2007 :eek1:

Yeah, I've gotten a few of them over the years. From the ones I have observed, they tend to stay more black than the typical run of the mill Anerythristic Motleys. Not exactly what you would expect.... :shrugs:

Ya, that's one of the 'bug bears' of the Anery 'A'.......they, often, relinquish that solid coal black effect overnight, darn it.

So, yeh I've read that these AneryCarmot 'guys' can be a good project for the desired contrasting Black/white enthusiasts :)

Also, quite a good combo. for those wishing to utililize the Ice or Lava genetics.......eh Jeff?

Ya Nigel, the Carmot female (1st photo) was very obliging with this photocall :grin01:

Cheers All

Just a fyi, but some of the darkest black, most contrasty Anerythristics I have ever seen came from my Caramel x Anerythristic A project. Completely the opposite of what I was hoping for, however......... :shrugs:

do you think the caramel gene has some effect on the contrast of anerys?

I have had 3 hatchling anerys....they are sooo black, and have a great black/white contrast. These are 50% poss het caramel

Ya Rich,

I think that is what's appealing to people, there are many out there who want & appreciate a truly black Anerythristic &, unless you are prepared to devote many years to selectively breeding a suitable line, there's not much chance to obtain such an animal.

I have, as a comparision, an Anerythristic 'A' het. Bloodred clutch who hatched out 4 days earlier than the AneryCarmots........the former are, already, starting to pale up a little whereas the AneryCarmots have retained their deep colouration.

However, it's still 'early days'........so, we shall see.
