Another first hook up!

Since my miami phase motley male is out for a breeding deal and is expected to spread his genes anyway this year, I decided to give my very restless (read; horny) XL dark miami male a chance with my light colored miami phase female, which could either be gravid or ovulating. Well, they hooked up within a couple of minutes, so she is sure not gravid! :crazy02:

I think if the offspring looks are in between their parent's, they'll be nice medium colored miami phases ;) And since the female is het amelanistic, the will proof if he is. I do not know if they have more hets, so maybe they'll suprise me

Great news Barbara i've my fingers crossed for you, for lots of pearly white eggs...

Congrats Barbara and good luck! :)

I hope the offspring take after Dad. Nothing against Mom, but I prefer silvery Miamis.

Thanks all! This is the second succesfull breeding I ever set up, it's such a thrill if it they do what you want them to do!

She is FAT and stopped eating... she rattled at the mouse I offered.... :crazy01:

Would you guys try to get her to eat a smaller prey or would you from now on just leave her alone? She is sooo grumpy!

Not that I am an expert at the breeding thing in anyway but... my anery has been acting similar but she has in fact accepted the pinkies I've offered her... and more than one at a time so perhaps just giving her something smaller...

Today she laid 20 eggs (and an obvious slug)! Not sure about the others yet, they do not look as white and sturdy as my first clutch of the year (from RO) but I think most are ok.

Congrats B!
Perseus is at long last a Daddy :grin01:
Don't forget to update about Beurre ;)

Acytually it were 19 egss and a slug, but I know now why they are not as perfect looking as Aislinn's eggs. Kahlan's were covered in moist aspen, which discolors the eggs a bit. Aislinn's were on top of a layer of moist aspen.

Today I candled all eggs of Kahlan and Lullaby and all are fertile, except for one slug in Lullaby's clutch. That brings me on a total of 42 eggs in 3 clutches :) So happy these eggs are ok after all!!!
