Any money saving ways to create water bowls?

I'm just thinking of how I hope to hatch out 13 babies in August but I currently dont have any water bowls for them.

Does anybody have any nifty way of converting something else into a water bowl so I don't have to go out and buy 13 water bowls?

I do know that Rich Z. uses PVC pipe caps, but that still entails going out and buying them.

Any other ideas?
 
For hatchlings I have always used soda bottle caps. You can only use these for a month or two before they start dumping them over all the time. However, if you are going to be selling any this keeps you from having to buy bowls for those you are selling.

I use caps as well, but I glue them to the bottom of the cup, otherwise they are spilled in no time.
 
You can make your own water cups from the PVC pipe caps. Just get the ones with the flat bottom. The rounded bottom ones won't work. If you have a Menards near you I found them to be the best source for small quantities. Home Depot has the wrong kind. I just drill a 3/8 inch hole at the top edge on each side and smooth the edges of the hole with a pocket knife. It takes about one or two minutes to make one. I believe that the pipe caps cost about 29cents. The nice thing about these caps is that they are the same height as the 8 oz deli cups, so when you close the lid, it locks the water dish in place so it can't spill.

What size enclosure are you using? For deli cups, I've found that the little Katsup containers from McD's work real well.
If your using a larger container, then deli cups work just fine.
I'm a real scavenger of 3 lb. margerine containers for the larger tubs. They are big enough for most snakes to emerse in and aren't eaisily spilled. Oh yeah, did I mention 'cheap'?
