I went to Petco today to buy a new feeder tank for my little guy. I went to the reptile section and they had slim to nothing...no corns, no boas, no leopard geckos. However they did have this guy, and I have never seen this kind of snake before, and there was no tag and no price for him/her. I didn't have time to buy everything and get him right then and there but I'm thinking about getting him, just need to do some research on him first, he kind've looked like he was in rough shape :\

He almost looks like a Ribbon Snake, but I never saw those colors on a Ribbon before. The pic was taken with my camera phone, I apologize, but he is white and orange.

I don't think its a KSB Joe... Looks like a Rosey to me... :shrugs: Who knows though, the phone pictures are generally really hard to make things out of..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Yea, as said it looks like a Rosy. It could be an albino Rosy because the stripes look more orange that red.

Whatever it is, it is very cool looking.

Looks like a rosy to me too. There is one in a pet store here that looks likethat, they call it a Bay of LA Rosy Boa. I don't where that is but...

Thats NOT an albino rosy boa... believe me those guys are so utterly brilliantly unmistakable! I'd have one in a heartbeat - IF I could afford it ;)

We have wild rosy and rubber boas around here. I'm going "hunting" for some this summer with my daughter, though I don't think we'll actually keep any. Just practice a little "catch & release" herp hunting...

If you find an albino you HAVE to keep it :grin01:

Ohh sorry. I was about to buy a Albino rosy for 135+shipping, I even talked my parents into it but i changed my mind at the last minute. I thought it looked orangeish but guess I was mistaken.

I'd also go with Rosy boa...

I dunno if I have the right to be jealous of your local rosy/rubber boa seeing as to how I live in Florida, but I am!

I'll make you a deal...If I find an Albino Rosy this summer, I will keep it and name it Tula, since I can't very well send it over to you...Deal?

I actually have a pretty good amount of cool snakes in my area. Alot of Cal. Kings(duh...), whipsnakes, racers, gophers, garters, rosy boas, rubber boas, zonatas(Cal. mt. kings), milks, desert kings...not to mention all the ones with rattles for tails that I try to avoid, and a bunch of subspecies for each species, as well. Between the desert dwellers out my back door, and the mountain dwellers just a few short miles up the road...there is a HUGE variety of snakes to be found 'round here... :crazy02: :crazy02:

Zonata are my favourite species of mt. kings! You lucky devil having them on your doorstep. And i'd be honoured if you would call the poor little albino beast Tula (but what a burdon it will have to carry) LOL
