Anyone order f/t lately?

I've ordered from Rodentpro.com twice and had my dad go with them too. I'm aware of the others but was wondering if anyone had delt with rodentpro.com lately? My last order and my dad's order a few months ago were not of the quality I expected (because the first time I went with rodent pro they were awesome).

Has rodentpro improved or am I best off going somewhere else?

Frozen mice

I had ordered pinkies and hoppers form RodentPro ( 100 of each) and although the pinkies were in pretty good shape the hoppers were covered in urine and fecal matter.
On my next order (100 fuzzies and 100 hoppers)
RodentPro gave me the hoppers for free because of the condition of the first order.
This time the fuzzies were OK but the hoppers, although not covered in urine or feces, were very skinny and extremely small.
They just weren't up to par. Most of them were barely longer then medium sized fuzzies and not as fat.
When I first opened the first package of hoppers I thought they looked pretty good but once I got the first few out I realized just how bad they were.
So, I have switched to Big Cheese Rodent Factory and I am much more satisfied.
MUCH MORE SATISFIED
I appreciated RodentPro replacing the first batch of hoppers but the quality just isn't there and I didn't want to continue feeding my snakes mice that basicaly looked starved.

yeah, I read about your story before. I wish BCRF had as nice a website as RP, it's sooo nice to see sizes and order with RP but I'm heading over to the BCRF right now to see if they've changed anything or what kind of pain it is to order from them.

Thanks, other opinions are welcome!

I haven't tried BCRF, but the Mouse Factory is great! Great mice, great service, you do have to call them up, but I find more reassurance talking to a friendly voice then sending off an email. I don't think I'll return to Rodent Pro anytime soon unless I need some chicks.

I order my larger mice sizes and rats from BCRF every once in a while, for pinks and fuzzies I produce my own. Here lately I've been buying locally. He does ship frozen so you might want to e-mail him and see what he has to say. His e-mail is [email protected]

But I'm with Jimmy, BCRF beats Rodentpro hands down. The sizes aren't as easy to judge as they are on Rodentpro, but..the quality of the rodents is top notch.

The last couple of orders from Rodentpro that I received were covered in urine and feces, and the rodents were skinny. When I order hoppers, I expect them to be good size. These were skin and bones, definately not what the picture illustrated.

On the pinks and fuzzies they looked ok, but when I thawed them out, they quickly turned to a nice sludge as the bellies split and the innards quickly became outards. Gyck.

Granted, the prices on BCRF is a bit higher, but in this case you get what you pay for. Great rodents that are conveniently vacuum packed.

No place is perfect, I know that all too well. When you're dealing with that many rodents and that many customers, mishaps are bound to happen. But when they happen to me twice in a row and I see everyone else having the same problems...it's time for me to shop elsewhere.

Hope you find better quality somewhere. =)

I switched to BCRF my last order and I was very pleased. I didn't email my order I called them. Everything went great, mice were clean and well packaged. Shipment arrived when promised:)

i tried rodent pro a while ago because my usual mouse company cajun mice didn't have the small size i needed. the fuzzies were all covered in feces and bedding. nasty. so i called cajun mice and thanked them for their excellent quality and great service.

I will say this about RodentPro...they will replace any mice or rats you are not happy with. There was a big thread about them a while back, and that was one of the things RodentPro stated. After that thread, I gave them another try and so far, all of the mice have been OK. I placed another order that I should receive on Thursday. I will let you know if I am happy with it.

Here's what I ordered:

3 Bags (300 Mice) of Small Pinkies
1 Bags (100 Mice) of Fuzzies
2 Bags (100 Mice) of Weanlings
1 Bags (100 Rats) of Pinkies
2 Bags (50 Rats) of Pups

I'll let you know the quality this Thursday...

Hey guys
I live right across the river from where Rodent Pro is located (Evansville, IN) and I've heard nothing but good things about them from locals. This is the first year I'm actually ordering frozen rodents in bulk, and I am thinking of going with them as my first choice. My friend ordered pinkies from them last summer for his hatchling corns and the mice looked okay to me. I bummed a few pinkies off of him a while back while my new milk was in the pinky/fuzzy transition stage. I'll let everybody know how my shipment looks (I'm getting it toward the end of January)...50 jumbos, 100 adults, and 100 weanlings.

JCam,

I'm up in Patoka, Indiana...just 25 miles to the north of Evansville. I used to order from RodentPro, but stopped because I was sick of the poor quality I'd been getting and the fact that I had to pay shipping ($30 or so) to ship to my house, when I could just as easily driven down and picked my order up.

But for some reason, Kevin is afraid you're going to be carrying some sort of "super rodent virus" and won't let you near the facility, even to pick stuff up. So thats the second major reason why I stopped shopping there, inconvenience.

They didn't ship it with any reliable shipping company, usually Airborne Express, which is an oxymoron of a name, because it's anything but express. I could have been down there and on my way back with my order in an hour, but it takes 2-3 days for it to arrive at my house? I don't think so. If I pay for shipping I expect UPS or Fedex at the very least.

I would seriously contact Jeff Hermann out of Evansville. He supplies all of the feeder rodents to Harp's pets. He works at Toyota with my husband and I've been to his facility and he's also hand delivered live orders to my house. He's super friendly and his prices are comparable to everyone else. Since I've switched to his rodents, I've had a 100% feeding rate with my snakes, I can't say that about RodentPro.

All of his rodents are fat and healthy, and thats what you get when you order. I even bought a breeding colony off of him, and they're super producers. No less than 13 per litter and no cannibalism.

His e-mail is [email protected], or you can look him up in the phone book. He's out on the West Side of Eville. You can pick up, or he delivers or ships.

Hey Taceas
Thanks for the advice. I'll talk to my friend about possibly switching. He's the one in charge of getting the rodents for the snakes. Yeah I went to school up in Evansville last semester (USI) and I hated it. That school sucks. lol anyways I have a friend down in Bowling Green KY that I gave some hatchling corns to last summer and he got so into them we agreed to go in on some of the adult corns from Rich and breed them along with my 4 adult corns this summer, maybe make some extra money and have fun doing it too.
Surprisingly Kevin told me I could come to RodentPro and pick them up if I wanted to save on shipping. Of course then I have to drive to Bowling Green because that's where the snakes are (or will be). That made me pretty happy. I right now am getting my frozen rodents (what few I need right now I'm only feeding a juvie sinaloan and juvie bloodred female) at Harps and they look really good to me. So I'll see what my friend wants to do and maybe contact that guy.
One quick thing about Harps Pets...I got my first cornsnake there when I was 12 (I'm almost 21 now)...she's still alive and very healthy. She's an Okeetee het for nothing but that's all good, sometimes it's nice to have a good ole normal in the mix. I also purchased a huge female amel there last year (53" long using the snake measuring program) for only $75, don't know how well she'll breed but she is the tamest snake I have ever seen, my friends love coming over and chillin with her.

I've rambled enough, Again thanks for the advice

Yeah, Harps is usually ok for pets, however their prices are a little high for some things. =D

It's surprising that Kevin would say you could pick your order up. I've asked on all of the orders I've ever placed, and get a stern "no" in repsonse. Go figure.

I have bought two corns from Harps. An adult motley female het amel (produced 13 last year) and a hatchling normal het for snow and hypo. Both are healthy as can be, eat great, and have great temperments.

Most of the baby corns are produced by the reptile manager, Stacey Cundiff, also from Patoka.

USI does suck, I don't think I've ever heard anything good out of there. Then again, I'm kinda partial to VU myself. ;)

I got my order from RodentPro today. All of the mice and rats look great. The only semi-complaint I have is that the rat pinks have a bit of bedding in with them. They aren't as clean as the other mice and rats. They are not bad, though.

I'm going to go with Big Cheese factory people. Chad has been awesome and gave me a decient price on hoppers (150/$75)

Bye bye rodentpro

Good luck with them. I'll stick with RodentPro. I can't see switching as long as they continue to send quality mice/rats to me.

I have ordered twice from rodent pro.
My last order I got about 2 weeks ago and both orders have been top quality (pinks, fuzzys, adult and jumbo mice, medium and large rats). Maybe I've been lucky but so far no problems here.
