Aphrodite, progression thread DUW

Asbit

So Many Morphs...
She is a Reverse Okeetee and has been with us now since May 16, 2009 @ 12 gms and was one of the first snakes we owned(pet store bought). I say we because technically she is supposed to belong to my 11 yr old but I care for her all the time and he keeps offering her to me. She was fed and weighed today and she weighed in at 85 gms.

The pics will go from oldest to newest as a true progression thread.
She was sold as a Candy Candy but I knew that was incorrect due to the colored spots between her saddles and the fact that she had some light peach ground color along her front 1/4. The rest of her ground area was almost colorless.

This is approx 1 mth after we got her it shows that she was just starting to get some ground color.

This one shows the neat double head pattern, if you look at the dark reddy orange, it looks like a bull skull and if you look at the light peachy orange inside the bull skull there is a perfect heart, hence the name. This snake has not been sexed as of yet but we are hoping it is a girl!

This was taken in July you can really see her nice wide white borders starting to develop.

This was taken in Oct 2009, she is really growing and her colors are coming in beautifully.

November this close up shows that she does not seem to realize how much she is growing, as well you can really see her nice white borders, I really hope they just keep getting better with time.

Just had to throw in her Christmas pose!

So that is the she that we really have no idea if is a she!

Honestly, because of the name we picked I hope she is a she but I would be happy with a he as well, either or.

It is a line bred Amel, specifically to bring out the thick white borders around the saddles.
Here is a very nice example of what she should look like as an adult, googled and found this pics from another forum.

No Sunglows are an Amel and they are line bred to have extremely little or no white borders, such as this one here bred by Marsha at Poppy Corns

and this Sunglow Motley also bred by Marsha

Ah! Alright I get it now! I've always been kind of confused about the okeetee / reverse okeetee thing. but you have finally explained it! thanks and once again, awsome snake!

More line bred Amels

High White Reverse Okeetee(RO) by Marsha
High_white_reverse_okeetee_F_Aug08.jpg

Florescent Orange RO by Marsha you will note the ground color orange is a very bright almost florescent color

A typical Amel note does not have wide thick white saddle borders again produced by Marsha

This should give you some idea of the variety in Amels, Amel is short for Amelanistic which means lacking black pigment.

Update Pic as of Feb 24, 2010

Just thought I would put an update pic of her in her thread I took this one last night, it is the one I like best of all the ones I took. The lighting in our house is terrible so I had to edit for accurate color but this is pretty darn close to real life. May put up a couple more after work. She is growing so fast and so big, last weigh in was 127 gms. She is quite muscular and strong, I have probed her once and am pretty sure she is a girl, although I have only probed 2 times so far and both times were on snakes that were belived to be female and that is what I got from the probing, so I will not feel confident until I probe a snake that is supposed to be a male and comes out as male.
