OK so the temp outside was 80-85 what was the temp in the viv? Maybe I missed it but what about water?

temps were a 85 F and humidity was higher 60-70%(cant recall exact).

high humidity ....must be some source of water... his dish is deep and wide enough for him to have 1/3 - 2/3 of his body submerged. and yes the VIV WAS AROUND 85F....

thanks for your help guys i will try your suggestions.. ill let you know what the results are.

On the live mouse issue I have an okeetee that will somtimes accept f/t but only if I put her in a cup with the f/t but she is always readily to accept a live mouse with no problms as I found out today.

ok guys i just force fed him.... it was horrible... i mean i had to cut it into 3 section it only ate the hip and head and i had tho throw the torso away... i hope he picks up on the eating by him self because i cant do this too often...

I feel for you. The force feeding was far more disgusting than blenderising pinks imo. As you say, the head and the back ends go in ok, but the middle is slippery and all the organs squish out.

This is what has been concerning susang, and it concerns me as well. The viv should have it's own heat source to keep it at a constant temperature, with a gradient (hot and cool ends). What the temperature is elsewhere in the house or outside is of no importance.

Also, how often have you been offering food to the hatchlings? Sometimes, offering food too often will turn a hatchling off wanting to eat. Once every 5 days is usually recommended.

Feeding in a deli cup for small hatchlings is usually prefered, and I also recommend leaving the hatchling with the pinky undisturbed over-night.

Good luck!
