Ariana -- 0.1 Hypo Pewter Progression

jlindp

Ophidiophile.
Here's my wee lass, Ariana (Welsh for "silver"), that I picked up from Daytona this summer. She weighed a whopping 6 grams when I purchased her and is now up to 11 and slammin' pinks like they're going out of style.

Thanks for lookin'!

I'll bet she just got lost in a conglomeration of other posts that were put up around the same time, cause she is really pretty and I LOVE hypo pewters. I'm hoping to have a few of those this next year myself. :)

Thanks, y'all!

Little Ari is eating like a champ, but growing like a snail. Of course, she's mainly on a 1-a-week schedule unlike my '09s, who were on a 5-6 day frequency which I adamantly adhered to. She's currently coming out of her blue phase and I was giving her a little "bath" to help things along right before the big shed.

Also, I have pictures from two different cameras. The more crisper, cleaner pictures are from my dSLR, the others from my 5-year old POS. Big difference in colors!

She's awesome!! I LOVE her eyes. Do they look that blue all the time, or does the color just pick up with flash?

Just wondering because my Phantom has brilliant blue eyes, but they look dark unless the sun comes out, or if the flash catches them in a certian way.

I love Phantoms so much that I've tossed around the idea that adding Diffused might actually detract from their beauty. Ariana has helped me realize that that is NOT the case!

:wavey:

Thanks, all! She's a great little girl. I never really had an interest in charcoals/charcoal morphs until I saw an adult hypo pewter and decided I needed one. :D She's only shed once with me, but I hope she turns out really light with just a hint of yellow on her throat. I'll just have to wait and see!

And her eyes are usually very dark looking when not in bright light.

Thank you. And naw! All snakes are pretty in their own way. :} As long as you think your kiddo is pretty, that's all that matters.

Ariana shed recently. She had a small injury on her back (still not sure what happened!), but it seems to be healing up after this shed. Hopefully it'll be nonexistent after a few more.

She's also entering the pretty (imo) purply-grey phase. Still no yellow, either. I can't wait to see how she looks as an adult! She weighed 28 grams prior to her last meal.

Outside (which she did not seem to enjoy!):

Great update, she's looking good! There's just something about her saddles.. the almost banded look that she has, that I love. My Pewter has that as well, and I just think it makes a snake look so put together and amazing.

I hope she heals well for you, and that she starts packing on the grams! I know it can be frustrating when it's taking a baby extra long to gain weight. It seems like if they get a bad start with a breeder who doesn't feed them much in their early months, it can REALLY affect their growth rate for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, thanks for sharing these pictures! Already looking forward to more in the future.

Hypo Pewter is the ONLY morph I'm dying to have still! I've seen a lot of corns, but never a hypo pewter in person, and the photos alone captivate me, all the time!!! I think you're so lucky to have one. They're so pretty! They always blow me away! :]

Another shed for wee Ariana. She may be a slow grower, but I LOVE the way her colors are progressing! Not a hint of yellow yet.

Another shed. I can see yellow starting to peek through on her neck! I just love how she seems to glow!
