Arlo's first shed!

CornNoobie

No longer a Noobie!
After not seeing Arlo moving around since wednesday (I presumed this was because of his feed on tuesday) I checked on his this afternoon and he sat curled up under his hid and appears to be in blue! Ive read many previous posts on here and also have kathy loves book, but would still like to hear peoples person views and experiences. To increase the humidity, ive put a very small (egg cup size) pot over the warm end with water in, and also, put a small tub with some damp moss in the cool end (whether he will even know this is there im not sure as he is hiding!). Should that be enough to increase the humidity as I really want to have his first shed a complete one! Ive heard alot of people mist there vivs/tanks, but im not sure whether doing this aswell as what I have done will make it too humid?!! Any tips on what people currently do, or advice on what I have so far done would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Sam

Sometimes I put the snake in the warm hide just so he knows it's there. He can always leave again. I also put plastic wrap over the top of the viv, with space at the edges. I sometimes mist or sprinkle the aspen, once, lightly. I don't feed my guys when they are blue unless I already have the mouse thawed before I find out, then I see if they want to feed. Some do, some don't. I don't handle the snake for the whole time it's blue.

It sounds like you have done much to aid with his shed.

I have always been the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" type when it comes to shedding. If my any of my snakes didnt seem to have a problem shedding, I didnt do anything different. This way I didnt add any extra stress by moving things around or adding things to their enclosure.

After the shed

I am also with leaving everything the same. Question: how long after the shed before you can start handling again? Just want others opinions.

Thankyou for everyones advice. Arlo shed last night, his first shed since Iv had him, and it was perfect!! Eyes caps to tail tip, all perfect!
