Aspen bedding info.........

Yeah, there's bigger pieces of random things in larger bags---Kaytee, L&M, or that crappy Petco stuff. Hell, in that Premier Pet bags I used to find logs!

In all seriousness, the bigger bags seems to have a few big pieces of bark, sticks, etc. Not a big deal, imo.

L&M is by far the best aspen I've ever used, it's just way too expensive.

So you use the larger bags of kaytee as well? Are you in the states? I would like to know if the americans are getting the exact same product as the canadians or not. Do your large bags look like what I got?

Rebecca

ps - if this is the same as yours how do you find the burrowing aspect. Do the burrows hold their shape as well as the smaller grain aspen they pack in the smaller bags?
I would guess we get the same product; bag is identical. Burrowing aspect is great. I have one that loves to tunnel; you can see little entry holes scattered throughout. The brown peices are just pieces of bark.

Here's a few examples of my normal hiding in the aspen. It's just fine for tunneling. My Opal is almost always under the aspen. And this is that same big bag of Kaytee.

Is that the kaytee brand shavings? I don't see half the brown dirty looking shavings that seem to be in my bags! Maybe once I get things open and start using these shavings they won't look so bad! :)

VERY VERY CUTE PICS BY THE WAY! :)

Thanks
Rebecca

This is how most of the bag is, except near the bottom it gets a little bit dusty, and the bark shows up a little more. And yes, it is the same Kaytee aspen in the big huge bag with the green and red label. The bag has a handle on top, otherwise I wouldn't be able to lift it! Plus I have a tendency to pick out the bark pieces and throw them away.

Hah, those pictures are great. My snake is often burrowed in the shavings and not in his hides, too.

Anyway since we're comparing aspen, I'm currently using ZooMed Aspen from Petco. The shaving size is great--quite fine in size, especially comparing them to those pics. But they're slightly dusty and more expensive for the amount you get.
