Austin Stevens anyone?

O.K. this is my last post on this subject. I watched all of his programs. I thought the same as you guys. I got the chance to ask all the questions you would ask. I didn't get the answers I expected.I formed an opinion based on what I had seen on T.V. yes he's been bit (I don't know either) yes the horse may of been to close, yes he went along a cliff edge and dropped his camera, yes to most of your statements.
So yes your right, I can't be bothered really to defend someone who means nothing to me. I just tried to give an insight into something I had a limited knowledge of.
My opinion for what its worth is, Austin, Irwin.Bredl etc do a much better job of showing people snakes are shy retiring secretive animals, that would rather run than fight, better than snakes on a plane that just reinforces the usual stereotype of snakes being nasty evil creatures.

I know most tv herpers do this, but I still thought this was hilarious. He always acts like its a huge deal when he finds snakes and that he's always to taken back....I can guaruntee that 90% of the snakes he finds are planted. I can prove one or two easily as well. Watch where he looks for the man-eater and you can see him glance towards where the retic is "hiding" multiple times before he actually "sees" it. The best though is the hunt for the giant lancehead lol. The snake's name is Big Bertha and its owned by a reptile zoo that does tours. So, the "giant" snake that he "catches in the wild" is actually a giant snake that is just the result of regular feedings in captivity lol. There is a website that actually advertises their zoo by telling the story of him using Big Bertha in one of his Snakemaster episodes. LOL I still watch though because he cracks me up. I also have respect for the guy because he uses interns as researchers which helps people get into the field of herpetology, he always promotes conservation for the "animals in his shows" after every episode, and believe it or not the man takes amazing photos of rare snakes. He's won a lot of awards, and I wish I could live the life he does lol. Can't say im a fan of how he treats snakes, but I can say that he does do SOME good for the reptile world. There's my two cents :sidestep:
