Average Hatchling Size?

I had my first albino cornsnakes hatch on June 6-7 with one still remaining in its egg. This is my first breeding success with any sort of reptile egg incubation (i'm use to red tail boas, live birth :) ) I was just wondering what the average hatchling size is suppose to be, because mine only look to be about 6 to 7 inches... Maybe 8. Then again I haven't tried stretching them out (which i'm not going to), because they look so delicate. Plus, if my calculation was correct... I was expecting these guys June 16 (which would have been 8 weeks). I guess they were in a hurry or something. Father was an Albino and Mother was a Snow. And so they are all Het Anery Type A if i'm not mistaken. Anyways... If anyone has any averages, please let me know.

Thanks.

Yep...that's about right! I always compare mine to a pencil. Of course, creams are typically bigger. My creamsicle babies are about twice as big as my pure corns.

I've had one hatcling in this clutch (hatched 3 days ago) come out about 30% bigger than it's siblings and a lot more robust. The others are much the same except for one that came out of an egg that was a lot smaller and I was sure was infertile...but the others were all about the size of yours.

How ironic. I just measured a number 2 pencil and its a little over 7 inches in length. I guess my little ones are on track. Thanks guys. And for a little update, the one still remaining in its egg has finally stuck his little head out. I pipped the egg myself after day 2 of hatching just in case. Hopefully it was a good idea.

I have hatched corns out 3 years in a row now, this will be the 4. and my average size has been around 8 inches, with one 2 years ago measuring over 12 inches long. was a monster. had to feed him fuzzies starting on the second feeding.

Wow that is exceptional!

I fed one already (out of curiosity!) and it gobbled the pink without blinking....hahahahaha

It looks like that one will be a no trouble pet for someone!

My hatchlings this year ranged from 3.6 grams (tiny ping pong ball egg) to 10.0 grams (monster from a huge Okeetee). I'd say most of mine are around 7-8 grams and 11-12 inches in length.

That sounds pretty much like mine (from limited data)
